CHRIS DEFENDS HIS MOM � When Rochelle's (Tichina Arnold) father Gene (guest star Jimmie Walker) dies unexpectedly while in town for a visit, Julius (Terry Crews) and the kids grow increasingly concerned when Rochelle acts as if nothing's wrong. With her family staying at their house, Rochelle finds herself under constant criticism from her mother, Maxine (guest star Loretta Devine), and when Rochelle won't defend herself, Chris (Tyler James Williams) comes to her rescue, shocking the rest of the family. Ernest Thomas ("What's Happening!!") guest stars as the funeral director and Antonio Fargas ("Starsky & Hutch") returns as Mr. Harris. Matt Shakman directed the episode written by Alyson Fouse (#017).
