"SHAQ VS RACHAEL RAY/SHAQ VS TYSON GAY," TUESDAY, AUGUST 17 ON ABC
"Shaq VS Rachael Ray/Shaq VS Tyson Gay" -- Shaquille O'Neal travels to New York City to challenge daytime host and author Rachael Ray to a cook-off, then heads to a track in Los Angeles to take on Tyson Gay, the fastest man in the world, in the latest installment of "Shaq VS," a reality competition series starring NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal, airing TUESDAY, AUGUST 17 (9:01-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
While in the Big Apple, Shaq will meet up with Rachael Ray to go grocery shopping and choose the freshest and best ingredients to use in a cook-off to determine bragging rights and see which of the tow of them can make the best tasting burger. Shaq will also travel to a track in Los Angeles to try and outrun Tyson Gay in a 200-meter relay race with the help of an All-Star team consisting of NBA Star Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans and DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles. Will Shaq's passion to win let him taste victory as a cook in the kitchen? And will his size 22-inch shoes move fast enough on the track to crown him a winner?
Mike Goldberg will host, while Kit Hoover will serve as co-host and sideline reporter.
The series closely follows Shaq and his adversaries throughout the rigorous training process and the pre-game hype leading up to every challenge. Each week, Shaq will compete in an athletic challenge or a non-sports competition, with some episodes featuring Shaq taking on two challengers. To level the playing field, he will negotiate a handicap with his opponent and train with a coach prior to the challenge.
"Shaq VS," which is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound, is produced for ABC by Media Rights Capital in association with Stewart Street Productions. Orly Adelson, Will Staeger, Barry Adelman, Shaquille O'Neal, Scott Messick, Trice Barto, Perry Rogers, Colin Smeeton, Mike Parris and Steve Nash serve as executive producers for the series. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.
