ON TONIGHT'S "PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?"

When People See a Situation that Cries Out for Action, Do They Step in, Back Away or Just Walk on by?

How will onlookers react to doctors, about to start their shifts at the hospital, drinking at a bar? Will anyone step in and say something to a mom who parades her young children around on leashes, even tying them to a tree? Using hidden cameras, "What Would You Do?" establishes everyday scenarios and then captures people's reactions. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John Qui�ones reports on their split-second and often surprising decision-making process. "Primetime: What Would You Do?" airs tonight, FRIDAY, NOV. 19 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

This week's scenarios include:

· Drunk Doctors: Two doctors are at a bar doing some drinking in their scrubs. But instead of being an innocent after work get-together, these doctors make it known to the other patrons that they're an hour or two from beginning their shifts at the local hospital. What will bystanders do knowing that these doctors are not sober enough to pick up a scalpel.

· Bikini Fat: A husband berates his wife for wearing a bikini too soon after she has given birth to their new baby - telling her she looks fat and needs to lose the extra baby weight before he is willing to be seen with her while she's wearing that. How will bystanders react? And what if it's the man out of shape?

· Kids on a Leash: A mother parades her young children around on leashes, even ties them to a pole when she goes inside a store. Will anyone say anything to the children or to the mom?

"Primetime: What Would You Do?" has won awards from the Chicago International Television Festival, and the Avon Foundation's 2006 Voice of Change award for exposing "injustice and wrongdoing against women and bringing the message of domestic violence to the mainstream." The Columbia Journalism Review has called the program "a Candid Camera of Ethics.
