AT A DANGEROUS 459 POUNDS, 23-YEAR-OLD ALEX IS TRYING TO KEEP A PROMISE HE MADE TO HIS LATE MOTHER TO GET HEALTHY AND LOSE WEIGHT, ON ABC'S "EXTREME MAKEOVER: WEIGHT LOSS EDITION"

"Alex" - Growing up, 23-year-old Alex was always overweight, but he had an ideal childhood with loving parents and brothers who all enjoyed going to baseball games together. However, at the age of 18, tragedy struck when his mom was diagnosed with cancer. With their days together dwindling, Alex made a promise to his mother that he would get healthy and lose the weight. Now at a dangerous 459 pounds and clearly struggling to uphold that promise, Alex writes a letter to trainer and transformation specialist Chris Powell, requesting his help in a desperate attempt to save his own life and make his mother proud. This episode of "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" airs MONDAY, JUNE 6 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
