HOW HORSE THERAPY IS HELPING JAYCEE DUGARD HEAL

Airing on "20/20," Friday, July 15

Plus: Two Young Women Who Beat the Odds and Survived Being Kidnapped, and How They Put the Horror Behind Them

And: "The Help" - A Best-Selling Book and Highly-Anticipated Film Mirrors Some Lives

Millions of viewers watched Diane Sawyer's landmark interview with Jaycee Dugard, who was kidnapped at age 11 on her way to school and held captive for the next 18 years, during which time she was repeatedly abused and gave birth to two daughters. Many of those viewers filled the ABC News message boards with remarks about her survival and resilience. Now Chris Cuomo takes a closer look at Dugard's healing process, which includes a special horse therapy that has been an essential part of her treatment. "20/20" airs FRIDAY, JULY 15 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Plus: Midsi Sanchez and Jeanette Tamayo are also members of that small club nobody wants to join -- kids whose innocent faces appeared on missing posters - and who've lived to tell the tale. Chris Cuomo revisits the two young kidnapping victims years after their horrific ordeals. Their stories show that there is life after being kidnapped, but not without some speed bumps in the road. What does it take to put that kind of horror behind you? The two young women meet for the first time and share their powerful stories.

And: It was the little book that could, its title just two simple words -- The Help -- that went on to sell more than three million copies, and now it's one of the summer's most anticipated movies.

The Help examines the intimate and complicated relationship between black maids, their white employers and the children they raised in the 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi. "20/20" correspondent Deborah Roberts interviews debut author Kathryn Stockett and the three lead actresses from the film - Viola Davis, Emma Stone and Octavia Spencer -- who discuss the messages that resonate from these relationships. For a lot of people, it's not just a novel or a movie, but something they actually lived. In a story of art imitating life, "20/20" reunites two women whose 30-year relationship mirrors the fictional story of The Help.

"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and Chris Cuomo. David Sloan is executive producer.
