"Episode 2201"-- "America's Funniest Home Videos"kicks off its 22nd season with all-new videos of what happens when adults, children and even inanimate objects are at their spontaneous best, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The video highlights in this season's premiere episode include a man teasing an alligator -- but the alligator gets revenge; a music montage featuring homemade rocket disasters; a poodle with a funny way of showing his unhappiness with taking a bath; a man flipping out when he discovers a lizard crawling on him; and a package of frogs causing mayhem. Hosted by Tom Bergeron, "America's Funniest Home Videos"is the longest-running primetime show in ABC history.
This season on "AFHV,"the three $100,000 prize winners will compete for the Grand Prize: a membership in Disney Vacation Club(R), to create a lifetime of memories for over 40 years. In addition to the Grand Prize for the video winner, the three sweepstakes prizes for viewers throughout the season will be a trip for four to Walt Disney World (R) Resort in Florida, a trip for four to Disneyland(R) Resort in California and a Disney Cruise Line (R) vacation for four.
In its 22 seasons to date, "America's Funniest Home Videos"has given away over $12 million in prize money and evaluated more than half a million videotapes from home viewers.
