LOCAL DEPUTY SHERIFF WANTS TO EARN BIG FOR HIS MOTHER, ON ABC'S "YOU DESERVE IT"

"Episode 104" -- "You Deserve It" isn't your ordinary game show. This entertaining and heartfelt new series emphasizes the enjoyment of giving rather than receiving. Contestants aren't out to win money for themselves, but instead are playing for someone else -- someone they feel deserves it. In this week's episode, contestant Greg Fisher, a local deputy sheriff and newlywed, wants to help his mother, Amy Fisher, get back on her feet financially. Sadly, earlier this year Amy lost her husband to a liver disease, leaving her with a stack of medical bills and mortgage payments that she's struggling to keep up with. As an active member in her community, Amy has spent the last 20 years creating and running Aliso Viejo Little League, providing children in their community with a place to learn the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Amy has always gone out of her way to make the people around her happy, and now Greg wants to play "You Deserve It" to help his mother save the home that has provided their family and community with so many amazing memories. "You Deserve It" airs MONDAY, DECEMBER 12 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"You Deserve It," hosted by Chris Harrison ("The Bachelor") and co-hosted by Brooke Burns, is a six-episode unscripted series in which contestants aren't out to win money for themselves, but are playing for someone else - someone they feel deserves it. Starting with a $ 10,000 round and going up to a $250,000 round, contestants purchase a series of clues to help them solve the puzzles and win money for their chosen recipient. But each clue will cost them -- and the cost of each clue is randomly selected and won't be revealed until after it has been purchased. The beneficiary, who is in another location under constant hidden-camera surveillance throughout the show, gets the surprise of a lifetime when family, friends, Brooke Burns and a camera crew burst in with life-changing news.

"You Deserve It" is produced by Kinetic Content. The show was created by Dick de Rijk, who also created "Deal or No Deal." He executive-produces along with Chris Coelen ("Secret Millionaire"), Matilda Zoltowski ("Dancing with the Stars") and Jeff Krask ("Deal or No Deal"). "You Deserve It" is a Red Arrow Entertainment Group format, distributed by SevenOne International. It is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's Selected HD Format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
