"WHAT WOULD YOU DO?"
AIRING FRIDAY, JUNE 13 AT 9:00 P.M. ON ABC
When People See a Situation that Cries Out for Action,
Do They Step in, Back Away or Just Walk on by?
When you think no one is watching what would you do? Using hidden cameras, "What Would You Do?" establishes everyday scenarios and then captures people's reactions. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John Quiones reports on their split-second and often surprising decision-making process. "What Would You Do?" airs FRIDAY, JUNE 13 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
Friday, June 13 scenarios Include:
· Obese customers are heckled and harassed at a buffet just because they are overweight. As other customers watch what is happening, will they step in to help and/or defend the overweight customers?
· An obnoxious diner mistakenly leaves behind a bank envelope stuffed with $100 bills. Another patron discovers the envelope and pockets the money. But when the original diner returns, looking for his cash, and the diner who found the money pretends to know nothing about it, will any fellow diners speak up? What if the man who left the money was blatantly abusive to his waitress?
· How will fellow shoppers react when they witness a transgender girl trying on dresses to wear to her prom? What will the response be when her father disagrees with the dress choice? (OAD: 5/31/13)
· A woman in a wedding dress runs into a bar, sits down at a stool, and orders some hard liquor. She's sweating, her mascara is running, and she looks completely distraught, explaining she is having cold feet and does not know if she can spend the rest of her life with her fiance - and that she's supposed to be at the altar in 15 minutes. Will complete strangers give advice? What if it's the groom having cold feet? (OAD: 5/31/13)
"What Would You Do?" has won awards from the Chicago International Television Festival and the Avon Foundation's 2006 Voice of Change award for exposing "injustice and wrongdoing against women and bringing the message of domestic violence to the mainstream."
