SERIES PREMIERE: Breaking Greenville - "Hashtag Small Market Problems" - Thursday Jan. 29, at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT)
tr uTV's new series Breaking Greenville takes viewers behind the cameras of two real-life rival TV news stations in one of America's smallest markets: Greenville, Miss. The character-driven, comedic docu-soap spotlights the playful - and at times cut-throat - rivalry between the stations and the dynamic newscasters who are determined to take their jobs seriously, even when some of the news they cover is less than serious. No, the happenings in the Mississippi Delta may not be headline news, but news can and in fact does happen there. Whether it's a cat stuck in a tree, or a low-pressure storm system, this group of competing news frenemies learns fast that making something out of nothing is challenging, rewarding and often downright hilarious.
In the season premiere, small market rival TV stations get too close for comfort in the ratings, inciting a war of one-upmanship between hyper-driven morning show anchors, Lucy Biggers and Callie Carroll. From stealing guests, to live-on-camera weight loss stunts, nothing is off limits when it comes to TV personalities fighting to be number one.
