Tiffany (aka "Pearls") - As a teenager, Pearls suffered from eating disorders and had issues with food as she made her way into adulthood. Now a single mother of a teenager with autism, Pearls is an autism activist with an overloaded schedule that has led to bad food choices, resulting in her obesity. Her amazing transformation will be featured in the episode of "Extreme Weight Loss" airing on TUESDAY, JULY 21 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC. Autism advocator Holly Robinson Peete, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Chef Rocco DiSpirito and performers from Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba" guest star in the episode.
Tiffany (296 pounds; Wichita Falls, TX) was given her nickname "Pearls" because she adorns herself with them for every occasion to make herself feel beautiful in spite of her weight. However, underneath her shiny exterior, Pearls is hiding a dark past -- she has struggled with various eating disorders her entire life, from binging, to bulimia and anorexia. Pearls feels that if she doesn't get her disorder under control and make healthier food choices, she won't be around to parent her autistic son, Mason, much longer. With this in mind, she wrote a letter to Chris Powell asking for his help. Her full bio is posted at ABC.com.
