When People See a Situation that Cries Out for Action, Do They Step Up and Say Something or Step Away?

When you think no one is watching... what would you do? Using hidden cameras, "What Would You Do?" establishes everyday scenarios and then captures people's reactions. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John Qui�ones reports on their split-second and often surprising decision-making process. "What Would You Do?" airs FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

Friday, August 14 scenarios include:

· A woman brings her Middle Eastern boyfriend to meet her white parents. When he arrives, the joyous news of their engagement takes a sour turn as her parents disapprove because they believe American girls should not marry Muslim men. How will bystanders react?

· A lesbian couple is registering at a baby store for items for their upcoming baby. The sales clerk does not think same sex couples should have children and has no problem voicing his opinion. How will other shoppers react?

· A customer is roaming the aisles, purposely damaging canned goods, produce, etc. because she thinks she will get a discount on the items. How will other shoppers react?

· The average cost of a wedding is over $28,000 and the wedding dress can be a big piece of that pie. What will happen when a bridesmaid spills red wine on a dress at a bridal store? (OAD: 6/27/14)

· How will witnesses react when a man tries to weasel his way out of paying off a big bet he loses while shooting pool? (OAD: 6/20/14)

"What Would You Do?" has won awards from the Chicago International Television Festival and the Avon Foundation's 2006 Voice of Change award for exposing "injustice and wrongdoing against women and bring the issue of domestic violence to the mainstream."
