DESCRIPTION: (from Encore's press release, June 2012) "The Crimson Petal and the White," nominated for two BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards (Best Actress for Romola Garai, and Best Mini Series), is an adaptation of Michel Faber's 2002 bestselling novel. It's an alluring, seductive drama that reveals the underbelly of Victorian-era London and the travails of prostitute Sugar, played by Romola Garai, ("The Hour," Atonement, Amazing Grace).
