BLESS THIS MESS (FOX) - Ed Begley, Jr. is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about Rio (Lake Bell) and Mike (Dax Shepard), a newlywed couple who give up their drab and unfulfilling lives in NYC and move to Nebraska to live a simpler life. It doesn't work out like they planned. He's set as Rudy, their no bullshit neighbor.
BOYS, THE (Amazon) - Karen Fukuhara is the latest to board the upcoming comics adaptation as Female, "a young Asian assassin with blistering fighting skills who happens to have superpowers, and uses them for explosive evisceration. When The Boys find her, she's savage, doesn't speak and is a complete mystery. She later learns what it means to be human through her relationship with Frenchie." (Deadline.com)
DEAD INSIDE (The CW) - Myles Bullock has booked a role on the drama pilot, about Emmy Gates (Lyndon Smith), an underachieving beat cop who starts seeing the ghost of her hotshot detective big brother Zach (Freddie Stroma), flipping their sibling dynamic on its head and allowing her to truly live her life for the first time, as they work together to help crime victims both living and dead, and figure out the unfinished business keeping his spirit on Earth. He will play Wendell Brooks, "a cautious, by-the book detective with a few secrets of his own, Wendell served as Zach's partner until his death and now lets Emmy shadow him." (Deadline.com)
GONE, BABY, GONE (FOX) - Haaz Sleiman will round out the cast of Dennis Lehane's book-turned-drama pilot, about private detectives Patrick Kenzie (Joseph Morgan) and Angela Gennaro (Peyton List), who right wrongs the law can't in the working-class Boston borough of Dorchester. He'll play Remy Broussard, a cocky yet charming detective.
INFAMY (FOX) - Meg Thalken and Grace Fahey will likewise complete the cast of the pilot, a legal drama set in an wrongful conviction firm. The former will play Helen Scott, Madeline's (Rachelle Lefevre) sweet and quiet mother. And the latter will play Young Heather.
MAGNUM, P.I. (CBS) - Stephen Hill has booked the final principal role on the proposed Jay Hernandez-led reboot as Theodore "TC" Calvin: "A former Marine Corps chopper pilot, TC runs Island Hoppers, the smallest but best helicopter tour business in Hawaii. MIXTAPE (FOX) - Campbell Scott, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Evan Whitten will complete the cast of the pilot, a romantic musical drama that looks at a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. Scott will play Natalie's (Callie Hernandez) father Hugh O'Brien, "described as rakishly handsome, warm and gentle but with some self-control issues." Jean-Baptiste is set as Annette Sands, "Sam's (Raul Castillo) aunt, who is described as warm, pragmatic and a fighter." And Whitten is Barry Hughes, Sam's son. (THR.com)
MOST LIKELY TO... (ABC) - Donald Faison and Laya DeLeon Hayes have both been cast in the comedy pilot, about Liz Cooney (Lesli Margherita) and Markie McQueen (Yvette Nicole Brown). In high school, Liz had everything and Markie had nothing. 20 years later, they're reunited under the same roof as single moms and unlikely housemates. Faison will play Joe McQueen, "Markie's supportive, blue-collar ex-husband and first love. He is a much more relaxed parent than she is." Hayes then plays Wallis McQueen, "Markie's intelligent and charitable daughter." (@OnceABC)
OUR PEOPLE (FOX) - Bernard David Jones, Matthew Glave and Skai Jackson will round out the cast of the comedy pilot, about Abel (Jones), a man from a bombastic African family who doesn't have a word in their native language for "privacy" and his fiancée Jenny (Beth Behrs) from a mid-western family try to build a normal life together. Though nobody can agree what that "normal" means. Glave will play Nick, "the laid back and loving father to Jenny"; while Jackson will portray Aisha, "little sister to Abel." (Deadline.com)
SINGLE PARENTS (ABC) - Marlow Barkley, Tyler Wladis and Devin Campbell have all been cast in the comedy pilot, which revolves around a group of single parents who lean on each other as they raise their kids and look for another chance at love (or at least sex). Barkley will play Sophie, Will's (Taran Killam) daughter; with Wladis as Graham, Angie's (Leighton Meester) son; and Campbell as Rory, Poppy's (Kimrie Lewis) son. Additionally, Grace & Sadie Hazlett will round out the cast as Emma and Amy, the twin daughters of Douglas (Brad Garrett).
SPENCER (The CW) - British actor Daniel Ezra has scored the title role on the drama pilot, about Spencer James (FKA Paysinger), a rising high school football player from South Central L.A. who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High. "The smart and charming son of a single mother (Karimah Westbrook), Spencer is a talented athlete and A+ student who must learn to deal with a host of emotions when he transfers from Crenshaw High to Beverly Hills High." (Deadline.com)
