MTV Pumps Up Fall Schedule with Eight New Series
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Ashton Kutcher's "Punk'd" will spearhead MTV's latest slate of projects as the cable network outlined eight new series yesterday. Most of the new entries will follow "Punk'd's" lead with a focus on pranks and hidden-camera antics. Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

BOILING POINT -- A new game show that tests players' patience by putting them in hidden-camera situations where they are egged into erupting. Winners will be the few who don't lose their cool within a set amount of time.

HIGH SCHOOL STORIES -- A follow up series to the recent "Scandals, Pranks and Controversies" special that aired on the channel. The series, from MTV News, will continue to explore the history of infamous pranks and mishaps that resonate in high schools across the country.

MADE PRESENTS: CAMP JIM -- A spin-off of the network's makeover series will focus on several seemingly helpless girls as they train with Coach Jim McMullen to become cheerleaders.

THE NATURE SHOW (10 episodes, Sundays at TBA) -- "Jackass" alumni Steve-O and Chris Pontius topline a new twisted take on Discovery Channel-style wildlife documentaries. The series tracks the duo doing such things as swimming with sharks and cavorting with crocodiles in such distant destinations as Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

RICH GIRLS (eight episodes) -- A new eight-week series that will take a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of well-connected teen socialites (including Ally Hilfiger, daughter of designer Tommy Hilfiger) as they live out their senior year in New York City.

ROOMATES -- MTV's latest dating series forces a single person to pick a partner based solely on the look and feel of their bedrooms.

UNTITLED BAM MARGERA PROJECT (10 episodes, Sundays at TBA) -- Another "Jackass" cast member gets his own series as Bam Margera has his life documented as he pranks the residents of his hometown.

UNTITLED WADE ROBSON PROJECT -- The well-known Britney Spears and 'N Sync choreographer will host the latest TV-talent search, this time focusing on the dance world. Viewers will have a say in who wins the prize: $100,000 and a professional dance gig.

Specific premiere dates and time slots will be announced in the coming months.
