TNT Scores Ad-Supported Cable�s Best Summer Ever with Key Demos; TBS Triumphs as Summer Champ with Young Adults
TNT sizzled this summer by ranking as ad-supported cable�s #1 nework in prime and total day delivery of adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, while also setting ad-supported cable records for best summer delivery of adults 18-49 in total day and adults 25-54 in prime and total day, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. TBS also burned up the airwaves by ranking #1 in prime delivery of adults 18-34 for the summer. Contributing to the success of the networks were such programs as the TNT Original limited series The Grid and the TNT Original movie Salem�s Lot, as well as Sex and the City and the original reality series Outback Jack on TBS.
For the year to date, TNT ranks as ad-supported cable�s #1 network among adults 18-49, adults 25-54, persons 2+ and households in prime time, as well as among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 in total day. TNT is also showing solid growth across the board when compared to same period last year.
TNT and TBS ratings highlights for summer:
� In prime time, TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 network among adults 18-49 (1,131,000) for the second consecutive summer, as well as among adults 25-54 (1,235,000) for the fourth consecutive summer, setting an ad-supported cable record in the latter category.
� Also in prime time, TBS ranked #1 among adults 18-34 (516,000), marking the network�s best summer ever in that category.
� In total day, TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 network among adults 18-49 (637,000) and adults 25-54 (670,000) for the second consecutive summer, setting ad-supported cable records in both demos.
� TBS exhibited double-digit growth in prime time vs. last summer with adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, driven by the success of Sex and the City and TBS�s original reality series Outback Jack.
� TNT showed growth in both prime and total day on the strength of such programming as the TNT Original limited series The Grid; the TNT Original movie Salem�s Lot, currently ad-supported cable�s #1 movie for the year to date; and TNT�s NASCAR Nextel Cup coverage.

� TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 network in total day delivery of adults 25-54 (655,000), setting an ad-supported cable record for August delivery of that key demo.
� TNT�s Sunday, Aug. 1, telecast of the movie Rush Hour ranked as ad-supported cable�s top movie for the month among adults 18-49 (1,981,000) and adults 25-54 (1,790,00), while TBS�s Sunday, Aug. 15, telecast of A Night at the Roxbury ranked as the #1 movie among adults 18-34 (1,173,000).
For the final week of August, TNT ranked #1 in prime time among adults 25-54 (1,468,000), persons 2+ (2,763,000) and households (2,021,000), as well as #1 in total day among adults 18-49 (662,000) and adults 25-54 (715,000).
Wrapping up a red-hot summer, ad-supported cable garnered an all-time-high 57.0 household share, up 4 percent vs. the same period in 2003. Even with the Olympics, the combined seven broadcast networks didn�t enjoy as much summer fun, posting an all-time-low 36.3 household share for the summer, down 2 percent vs. last year.
For the quarter to date, ad-supported cable is tracking an all-time high 56.7 household share, up 6 percent vs. the same period last year and well ahead of the seven broadcast networks� 37.0 household share, down 2 percent vs. last year.
TBS is television�s �very funny� network, serving as home to such hot contemporary comedies as Sex and the City, Everybody Loves Raymond, Family Guy, Seinfeld and Friends; high-profile original reality series, such as the upcoming The Real Gilligan�s Island and The Mansion; blockbuster movies; and hosted movie showcases. TBS also offers action-packed sports from the worlds of Major League Baseball and Pac 10 and Big 12 college football.
