[via press release from ABC]

"life as we know it" AND "EXTREME MAKEOVER" TO SWITCH TIME PERIODS, BEGINNING THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, ON THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

The coming-of-age one-hour drama, "life as we know it," and the popular reality series, "Extreme Makeover," will continue to air Thursday nights but will switch time periods this January on the ABC Television Network. Beginning THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 2005, all-new, original episodes of "life as we know it" and "Extreme Makeover" will begin airing at 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT and 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT, respectively.

In commenting on the scheduling move, Jeff Bader, executive vice president, ABC Entertainment, said: "Flipping 'Extreme Makeover' and 'life as we know it' should ultimately help both shows, and our whole night. 'life as we know it' will no longer have to air against two of the highest rated programs on television, and this move to 8:00 p.m. will enable it to take advantage of the 'Survivor' hiatus in January. This shift also allows us to return to the combination of 'Extreme Makeover' and 'Primetime Live,' which proved to be a very compatible two-hour block for us last season."

From the producers of the critically acclaimed series "Freaks and Geeks," Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, and the former co-chairman of the ABC Entertainment Television Group, Stuart Bloomberg, "life as we know it" is a drama series about three teenage boys -- Dino Whitman, Jonathan Fields and Ben Connor -- and how sex, girlfriends, sports and the pressures of growing up affect their attitudes toward the things and people they love, and help shape them into men.

"life as we know it" stars Sean Faris as Dino, Jon Foster as Ben, Chris Lowell as Jonathan, Missy Peregrym as Jackie, Kelly Osbourne as Deborah, D.B. Sweeney as Michael Whitman, Lisa Darr as Annie Whitman, Marguerite Moreau as Ms. Monica Young and Jessica Lucas as Sue. The series is created by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, who are executive producers together with Stuart Bloomberg. The one-hour drama is from Sachs-Judah Productions and (ca)bloom! in association with Touchstone Television.

Since its December 2002 premiere, "Extreme Makeover" has become a pop culture phenomenon. Now in its third season, the popular reality series has unveiled some of the most jaw-dropping transformations, dramatically and forever changing participant's lives and looks through plastic surgery. The transformations are accomplished through the skills of an "Extreme Team," consisting of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, eye surgeons and cosmetic dentists, along with a talented team of hair and makeup artists, stylists and personal trainers.

The "Extreme Team" roster includes: prominent board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Garth Fisher, Dr. Anthony Griffin, Dr. Brent Moelleken, Dr. Jon A. Perlman, Dr. Harvey Zarem and new member Dr. Barbara Hayden; dentists Dr. William Dorfman, Dr. Steven Donia and Dr. Dennis Wells; dermatologist Ava T. Shamban; LASIK eye surgeon Dr. Robert Maloney; wardrobe stylist Sam Saboura; master body sculptor and rapid weight-loss expert Michael Thurmond; top hair stylists, including Kim Vo, John Allen, Umberto, Sally Hershberger and Oscar Blandi; and many celebrity makeup artists, including Darcy Gilmore and Anastasia.

"Extreme Makeover" is produced by New Screen Entertainment and Lighthearted Entertainment. Chuck Bangert, Lou Gorfain and Howard Schultz are the executive producers. Julie Laughlin is co- executive producer.
