Spike TV Presents a New Sketch Comedy Series 'The Lance Krall Show' Debuts Spring 2005

Stars Lance Krall, Best Known to Viewers as Kip From Spike TV's Original Comedy/Reality Series 'The Joe Schmo Show'

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Jan. 14 -- What happens when Spike TV gets a bunch of talented comedians, who also happen to be good friends, together, gives them a camera and free license to create whatever they want for a new television series? You get the original non-scripted sketch comedy series "The Lance Krall Show." Lance Krall is not only the star of this new series that bears his name, but he is also the series creator, writer, director and executive producer.

Rory Rosegarten also serves as executive producer. This new weekly half-hour series debuts on Spike TV in Spring 2005 with eight episodes.

With innovative comedic abilities including dead-on accurate impersonations and physical humor, Lance Krall and his hilarious ensemble cast fuse humor, biting satire and a host of wacky original characters to create a show that will stretch the bounds of sketch comedy and what a non-scripted television series can be.

"Lance has incredible comedic abilities, which was clearly evident to us in his portrayal of Kip on our hit original series 'The Joe Schmo Show'," says Kevin Kay, Executive Vice President of Production and Programming for Spike TV. "His guy brand of humor and his natural comedy instincts are right on target for our audience."

"The Lance Krall Show" will feature bits revolving around roommates, samurai, first dates, refugees, the Mafia, televangelists, musical numbers, dead pets, amateur reporters, prank phone-calls as celebrities, fake psychics, hot chicks from outer-space, ninjas battling lunch ladies and tennis pros battling archers, among others. In addition to Krall, the show includes comedy veterans Sarah Baker, Phil Cater, Annie Humphrey, Rob Poynter, Michael Sweeney, Loren Tarquinio and Anna Vocino.

Lance Krall is a founding member of Atlanta's most popular improv comedy group, The Whole World Theater. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Krall was cast by Steve Martin as a series regular on his variety show "The Downer Channel" for NBC. Other television appearances include "Monk" and "The Cindy Margolis Show." However, Krall might best be known to television viewers for his role as "Kip, The Gay Guy" on Spike TV's original comedy/reality series, "The Joe Schmo Show." Krall also has made his own directorial debut, the short film "Party Animals" about a group of wannabes in Hollywood. The film premiered at the LA International Short Film Festival and at 2004's Slamdance in Park City, Utah.

Peilin Chou, Vice President of Original Series for Spike TV, serves as the Executive in Charge of Production for "The Lance Krall Show." Kevin Kay is the Executive Vice President, Production & Programming for Spike TV.
