SOUL AND R&B MUSIC LEGEND ISAAC HAYES GUESTS ON "THE BERNIE MAC SHOW" FRIDAY, APRIL 1, ON FOX
Legendary soul and R&B musician Isaac Hayes makes a guest appearance in Bernie Mac's confessional, offering him advice on how to nurture Vanessa's newly unveiled musical talent on "The Music Mac" episode of THE BERNIE MAC SHOW Friday, April 1 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
The Oscar- and Grammy Award-winning Hayes, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has written over 200 soul classics, such as "When Something is Wrong with My Baby," "Soul Man," "Never Can Say Goodbye" and "Shaft." "Shaft" made him the first African American composer to win the Oscar for Best Musical Score. In addition to generating three Grammy Awards, the music from "Shaft" won a Golden Globe Award and an NAACP Image Award. Recently Hayes has become known to many as the voice of Jerome "Chef" McElroy on the animated series "South Park."
Hayes owns restaurants, acts in television and feature films, hosts his own radio show, champions child literacy and is the author of two cookbooks: "Cooking with Heart & Soul: Making Music in the Kitchen with Family and Friends" and "Kidney Friendly Comfort Foods: A Collection of Recipes for Eating Well with Chronic Kidney Disease," a free book that is a tribute to friend and fellow music legend Barry White, who died of kidney failure in 2003.
Peter B. Aronson and Warren Hutcherson are the executive producers of THE BERNIE MAC SHOW, which is produced by Regency Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
