LOS ANGELES, April 19, 2005 � Penn & Teller, Showtime's resident iconoclasts, continue their onslaught on society's sacred cows with their critically acclaimed series, PENN & TELLER: BULLSHIT!, set to premiere Monday, April 25 at 10:00 PM ET/PT. Entering its third season, this award-winning series featuring master showmen Penn & Teller, delivers viewers an aggressive, humorous expos� of taboo topics using the duo's trademark humor, knowledge of carnival tricks and con-artistry, as well as hidden cameras and blatant confrontation.
Winner of the prestigious 2004 Writer's Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety Series, PENN & TELLER: BULLSHIT!, continues its controversial muckraking throughout season three by confronting many of the institutions society holds dear. In the premiere episode entitled "Circumcision," Penn & Teller launch a hilarious and fascinating investigation into this unexpectedly controversial medical procedure that has many people throughout America asking the question, "to snip or not to snip?"
Other contentious shows from season three have Penn & Teller revealing rarely heard truths about Mother Teresa, the Dali Lama and Gandhi that will both shock true-believers and fascinate skeptics. Through an absorbing mix of in-depth interviews, historical facts and biting wit, Penn & Teller shed new light on these three spiritual icons that viewers may think they know. Other show topics will include the often hypocritical "politically correct' academic culture of American colleges and a no-bullshit look at conspiracy theories.
The series is being produced by the Academy� and Emmy� Award-winning Wolper Organization and Star Price Productions. Wolper Organization's credits include "The Mists of Avalon," "L.A. Confidential," "Murder in the First," "Thornbirds," "Surviving Picasso," "Queen" and "Legends, Icons and Superstars of the 20th Century." Penn & Teller serve as Co-Executive Producers. The Executive Producers are Mark Wolper and Star Price.
Penn & Teller's unique mix of comedy, magic and the macabre has brought them critical acclaim, sold-out runs on Broadway and their own permanent performance home at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Together since 1975, their award-winning theater show has been a long running hit on and off �Broadway. The duo keeps a busy touring schedule, performing live more than 100 times in 2004 alone. The 1985 PBS special, Penn & Teller Go Public, won two Emmys� and the International Golden Rose.
