BASEBALL, APPLE PIE, AND THE FAB FIVE: BRAVO'S 'QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY' IS RED HOT THIS SUMMER WITH ALL-NEW EPISODES BEGINNING JUNE 7TH

QUEER EYE'S HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED BOSTON RED SOX EPISODE FEATURING WORLD CHAMPIONS KEVIN MILLAR, JOHNNY DAMON, JASON VARITEK, TIM WAKEFIELD AND DOUG MIRABELLI IS THE SEASON OPENER PREMIERING TUESDAY, JUNE 7TH AT 10:00 P.M. ET/PT

NEW YORK -- April 26, 2004 -- The boys of summer meet the boys of Bravo when "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" kicks off its summer season with the June 7th premiere of the Emmy-winning series' most anticipated episode yet featuring players from the World champion Boston Red Sox. 12 original episodes will air this summer featuring some of the most compelling, heartwarming, and of course humorous, straight guy stories yet.

The Boston Red Sox may have reversed a curse by winning the World Series last fall, but for the Fab 5 they still suffer from the curse of bad style -- lucky for Kevin Millar, Johhny Damon, Jason Varitek, Time Wakefield and Doug Mirabelli, bad style is their cause c?l?bre.

Carson, Jai, Kyan, Thom and Ted descended on Red Sox spring training to whip the self-proclaimed "idiots" into tip-top fashion and grooming shape. It's their mission to have the baseball champions look like champions and in doing so, turn the stadium's press room into a Thom Filicia-designed spa complete with massage, pedicures, manicures, hair colorists and stylists, shaving stations and back waxers plus a separate fashion area. The Fab 5 also teamed with the players wives - Michelle Damon, Karen Varitek, Stacy Wakefield, Kristin Mirabelli and Jeanna Millar - to help the community by raising money to help some Florida little leaguers re-build their baseball fields that were severely damaged by Hurricane Charley. But these future all-stars are in for the surprise of their lives when, after the big-leaguers reveal their new looks, they are invited to play a couple of innings at the stadium with the Red Sox and the Fab 5.

Other premiere episodes include:

- Lee is a stay-at-home super dad to eight foster children. The Fab 5 help the kids celebrate the man who changed their lives.

- Hector, a war veteran injured in Iraq, returns home and adjusts to life in a wheelchair.

- Paulo, a new father evens the playing field by enlisting the Fab 5 to help him manage his life with 2 year-old quintuplets.

- Gary is a cystic fibrosis survivor who, against the medical odds, is about to celebrate his 40th birthday with the help of good friend, Boomer Esiason.

- Carson is handed a clean slate in James, a nudist who needs help living in a clothed world.

"Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" is produced for Bravo by Scout Productions. Executive producers are David Collins, Michael Williams, and David Metzler. Linda Lea is co-executive producer.
