JOHN C. McGINLEY TO HOST NBC'S "UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS IN TV ENTERTAINMENT: A MUSEUM OF TELEVISION & RADIO SPECIAL" AUGUST 10

BURBANK, Calif. -- August 4, 2005 -- John C. McGinley, who stars as the gruff, worldly Dr. Perry Cox on NBC's Emmy-nominated comedy "Scrubs," will host "Unforgettable Moments in TV Entertainment," this year's Museum of Television & Radio special to be telecast on Wednesday, August 10 (8:30-10:00 p.m. ET) on NBC.

The 90-minute special continues the museum's long tradition of honoring television's seminal programs and performers by focusing on many memorable television moments in sitcoms, dramas and reality television. From shocking to compelling, inspiring to nail-biting or just plain hilarious, unforgettable television moments have given us all something to talk about. Providing behind-the-scenes insights are stars such as Jason Alexander, Michael Chiklis, Larry Hagman, Shelley Long, Bob Newhart, Doris Roberts, Cybill Shepherd and Donald Trump. From Lucy wrestling with an Italian grape stomper, to Sammy Davis Jr. kissing Archie Bunker on "All in the Family," to the final episode of "Friends," television always gives us a good reason to tune in.

The special will feature segments such as "Unexpected Moments," which will look at some of television's biggest shocks and surprises from "Who Shot JR?" to the "Newhart" finale; and "Winners and Losers," highlighting game shows, talent shows and reality shows from the past 30 years. Other segments include "First Impressions" focusing on some of TV's most memorable pilots; "Pushing the Limits," exploring how times have changed on TV regarding sex and nudity; and "Special Guests," featuring unforgettable walk-ons by some of the biggest stars in Hollywood- including Barbra Streisand on "Saturday Night Live," Charlton Heston on "Friends," and Cher on "Will and Grace."

McGinley is best known for his role as Dr. Cox on NBC's "Scrubs" and has also starred in over 50 feature films including the hit thriller "Identity," "The Animal," "Any Given Sunday," "The Rock," "Nothing to Lose," "Set It Off," "Seven," "Office Space," "Wall Street" and "Platoon." McGinley has also served as producer on a number of films including "Colin Fitz" and "Watch It."

On television, McGinley starred in two Dean Koontz miniseries, "Intensity" and "Sole Survivor." He also starred in and produced the television movie "The Jack Bull."

John Watkin and Eamon Harrington from Planet Grande Pictures are the executive producers of the special. Planet Grande is a multi-award winning production house based in Malibu, California. This is the company's fourth special produced in conjunction with The Museum of Television & Radio.
