DAYTIME GOES PRIMETIME AS FOUR OF DAYTIME TELEVISION'S HOTTEST STARS JOIN CBS DRAMAS THIS FALL

"Criminal Minds," "Close To Home," "CSI: Miami" and "Cold Case" Welcome Former Daytime Stars

Daytime goes primetime as four of daytime's hottest stars will appear on CBS dramas this fall. Shemar Moore of "The Young and the Restless" stars as FBI profiler Derek Morgan in the new thriller "Criminal Minds," while Jennifer Finnigan of "The Bold and the Beautiful" stars as prosecutor Annabeth Chase in the new crime drama "Close To Home." Meanwhile, Eva La Rue of "All My Children" will guest star in "CSI: Miami" as lab specialist Natalia Boa Vista and Sarah Brown of "General Hospital" and "As the World Turns" will recur in "Cold Case," playing officer Josie Sutton.

Other primetime CBS stars who got their starts in daytime include "CSI's" Marg Helgenberger ("Ryan's Hope"), "CSI: NY's" Melina Kanakaredes ("Guiding Light"), "NCIS's" Michael Weatherly ("Loving"), "NUMB3RS's" Alimi Ballard ("All My Children") and "Without a Trace's" Eric Close ("Santa Barbara").

Shemar Moore plays Special Agent Derek Morgan, an expert on obsessive crimes in the Behavioral Analysis Unit at the FBI on "Criminal Minds," which debuts in a special time period, Thursday, Sept. 22 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/PT). He is best known for his portrayal of Malcolm Winters on "The Young and the Restless" on the Network, for which he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2000. He was also nominated for Daytime Emmys in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor in a Drama Series in 1996 and 1997 and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1999. He has won five NAACP Image Awards.

Jennifer Finnigan plays Annabeth Chase, a young, aggressive prosecutor with a perfect conviction record who tries the cases that take place in her "own proverbial backyard," on "Close To Home," which premieres Tuesday, Oct. 4 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/PT). Finnigan played the role of Bridget Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful," for which she received three Daytime Emmy Awards in a row, setting a record.

Eva La Rue appears on "CSI: Miami" as Natalia Boa Vista, a beautiful new CSI who, upon receiving major government funding to investigate cold cases conflicting with the team's current cases, creates unexpected tension within the lab on the show's fourth season premiere, airing Monday, Sept. 19, (10:00-11:00 PM ET/PT). La Rue is best known for her role as Dr. Maria Santos on "All My Children," for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1997.

Sarah Brown plays Josie Sutton, a new addition to the squad who will be mentored by Detective Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris), beginning in "Cold Case's" third season premiere, airing Sunday, Sept. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). Brown began her daytime career on "General Hospital," where she won three Daytime Emmy Awards for the role of Carly Corinthos. Recently, she appeared on "As the World Turns," on the Network, as Julia Larabee.
