WHEN THE SUN REACHES ITS LIMIT A RARE CELESTIAL PHENOMENON BECOMES A TERRIFYING REALITY -- LUKE PERRY, PETER FONDA AND TIA CARRERE STAR IN THE HALLMARK CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE EVENT SUPERNOVA
Emma Samms and Lance Henriksen Also Star Alongside Global Locations and Explosive Special Effects
A scientific possibility becomes a terrifying reality when the most powerful force
in the universe threatens to hurtle home. Golden Globe winner Peter Fonda, Luke
Perry, Tia Carrere, Lance Henriksen and Emma Samms star in Supernova, a Hallmark
Channel Original three-and-a-half-hour movie event, which will premiere Monday,
September 5 (8/7c).
Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr. Austin Shepard (Fonda) suddenly disappears
from his observatory at the Space Propulsion Labs leaving shocking data behind for
Dr. Christopher Richardson (Perry). Seasoned news reporter Laurie Stephenson
(Samms), who has been looking for answers to bizarre sun storm activities, gets
suspicious when a scheduled interview with Dr. Shepard is cancelled. National
Intelligence Special Agent Lisa Delgado (Carrere) fears that Shepard has been selling
his classified top-secret Solar Probe discoveries and has gone into hiding.
The truth is that Shepard has retreated to an island paradise because he knows
something that everyone else will soon discover for themselves -- after eons of
existence as a rolling inferno, the sun is set to explode in a supernova that will bring
about the end of the world in seven short, terrifying days!
Supernova was directed by John Harrison (Dune) and was filmed in 27
difficult and amazing locations (the Taj Mahal, the St. Louis Archway and Paris, to
name a few) with explosive state-of-the-art special effects.
Supernova is executive produced by Robert Halmi, Jr. and Larry Levinson. Nick
Lombardo, Steve Squillante and Therese Ryan are co-executive producers. The
Hallmark Channel Original movie event was produced by Leanne Moore.
