CBS.COM LAUNCHES CBS NETCAST, A NEW DESTINATION FOR ALL PROGRAM-RELATED PODCASTS

"GUIDING LIGHT," TELEVISION'S LONGEST RUNNING DRAMA, ENTERS THE WORLD OF PODCASTING WHEN CBS.COM OFFERS ENTIRE AUDIO EPISODES OF THE DAYTIME SERIAL BEGINNING TUESDAY, SEPT. 6

CBS.com has established CBS Netcast, a brand new destination for Internet users to download podcasts of CBS programs and original CBS.com programming to their computers or portable handheld devices. The dedicated section with CBS.com is scheduled to premiere next week when entire audio episodes of television's longest running drama GUIDING LIGHT will be available.

CBS Netcast will also offer daily podcasts of the "Big Brother" online talk show HOUSE CALLS, the daytime online show SOAP BOX and upcoming CBS.com shows such as SURVIVOR LIVE. CBS.com also plans to make available podcasts of certain CBS prime time series.

"Podcasting is another smart, creative way for viewers to access and experience their favorite television programs," said Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group. "This new platform takes us another exciting step into television's future where new media and technologies will expand upon and enhance the relationships established by the Network content."

"Podcasting has become one of the fastest growing programming and promotional tools in media today and with this dedicated site we plan to be part of this new medium in a big way," commented Larry Kramer, President, CBS Digital Media. "With this move, we continue to expand our entertainment programming portfolio on CBS.com in way that engages the consumer with a unique experience that complements the broadcast on the Network."

The first GUIDING LIGHT audio episode will be available for download Tuesday, Sept. 6 (6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT) on CBS.com.

With the advent of CBS Netcast, GUIDING LIGHT comes full circle, from its beginnings on radio, to its current run on the CBS Television Network and now available in audio format on CBS.com.

"This new technology harkens back to the infancy of this enduring medium, when fans gathered around their radios to follow their favorite stories and characters," commented Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, CBS Daytime Programming. "It's exciting to bring one of daytime's most enduring dramatic serials into this new realm. And with this new feature, GUIDING LIGHT fans won't have to rely solely on their TiVo's or VCR's to catch up with their favorite daytime drama with the podcasts offering the convenient opportunity to listen on their computers or on their portable handheld devices."

During its premiere week on CBS.com, the GUIDING LIGHT podcasts will be available Tuesday-Thursday. Subsequently, entire episodes will be available Monday-Friday on CBS.com at 6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT.

GUIDING LIGHT premiered on radio in January 1937. The daytime drama then moved to its home on the CBS Television Network on June 30, 1952. GUIDING LIGHT continues to be the longest running series on television and will celebrate its 70th broadcast year in January 2006.
