LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The WB has rolled back its commitment to its midseason comedy "Misconceptions," trimming the show's order to six episodes.
The series, about a woman (Jane Leeves) who struggles when her daughter (Taylor Momsen) meets her anonymous-sperm-donor father (Adam Rothenberg), originally received a 13-episode order in May. No reason for the change was given.
The news marks the netlet's second rollback this season, the other being fellow midseason entry "The Bedford Diaries" (read the story).
In addition to "Misconceptions" and "Bedford," The WB has 13-episode commitments out to the comedy "Modern Men" and the drama "Pepper Dennis" for midseason - not to mention a handful of unaired installments of "Blue Collar TV" and "Living With Fran" on the shelf.
That, coupled with a second season of "Beauty and the Geek" and the recently-announced "Fountain of Youth," means that the WB will have at least 55 hours of programming ready to go in 2006.
As for "Misconceptions," Jeff Kleeman, Michael Saltzman, Brian Grazer and David Nevins are the executive producers of the 20th Century Fox Television/Imagine Television-based series.
