LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Two additional freshman series - ABC's "Hot Properties" and FOX's "Reunion" - got the boot yesterday as the broadcast networks began to hand out their final round of pink slips for the fall.
Industry insiders confirm both series won't live beyond their initial 13-episode orders, however it's not clear if all the produced installments will air.
To date this season, the Warner Bros. Television-based "Reunion" has averaged a lackluster 4.32 million viewers, ahead of only troubled comedies "Arrested Development" (4.29 million), "Kitchen Confidential" (4.03 million), "The Bernie Mac Show" (3.82 million) and "Malcolm in the Middle" (3.50 million) as well as the quickly-axed "Head Cases" (3.07 million) on the network.
More troubling however was the show's lackluster 66.77% retention rate of its Thursday lead-in "The O.C." (6.47 million on average).
As for the likewise Warner Bros. Television-based "Properties," the Friday comedy has averaged a modest 5.90 million viewers to date this season. Nevertheless, said numbers marked an above-average 87.84% retention rate of lead-in "Hope & Faith" (6.58 million on average).
Jon Harmon Feldman, Steve Pearlman and Andrew Plotkin are the executive producers of "Reunion" while Suzanne Martin is behind "Hot Properties."
