"Jesse Stone: Night Passage" Is The Prequel To Last Year's "Stone Cold" Also Starring Selleck

JESSE STONE: NIGHT PASSAGE, starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Tom Selleck ("Magnum P.I."), will be broadcast as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, Jan. 15 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Selleck reprises his role as Jesse Stone in the prequel to last year's high-rated movie "Stone Cold." The movies are based on the best-selling series of books by Robert B. Parker. Stephen Baldwin ("Fallacy") and Stephanie March ("Law & Order: SVU") also star.

JESSE STONE: NIGHT PASSAGE reveals how Stone (Selleck) became the Police Chief of the small fishing town of Paradise, Mass. after being fired from the Los Angeles Police Department. An unlikely candidate, Stone is recruited by Paradise's board of selectmen in the hopes that the failed cop won't dig too deeply into the town's dirty secrets. Within moments of being hired and still drunk from the night before, Stone must investigate a domestic violence situation involving Joe Genest (Stephen Baldwin), Paradise's resident hothead, whose ties to a local bank manager, Hasty Hathaway (Saul Rubinek), expose a money laundering scheme.

Polly Shannon reprises her role as City Attorney Abby Taylor and Stephen McHattie reprises his role as Captain Healy. Viola Davis, Vito Rezza and Kohl Sudduth reprise their roles as the staff of inexperienced police officers Stone inherits with his new job. Stephanie March joins the cast as Cissy Hathaway, the attractive wife of the town's most powerful man, who has eyes for Jesse Stone.

Tom Selleck won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his starring role as Thomas Magnum on the CBS series "Magnum, P.I." His other television credits include a recurring role on the series "Friends," for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination, the four-hour mini-series "Scott Turow's Reversible Errors," on the Network, and the television movies "Ike: Countdown to D-Day," "Monte Walsh," "Louis L'Amour's Crossfire Trail," "Running Mates," "Broken Trust," "Ruby Jean and Joe" and "Last Stand at Saber River." His feature film credits include "In and Out," "Three Men and a Baby," "Three Men and a Little Lady," "The Love Letter," "Mr. Baseball," "Folks," "Quigley Down Under," "An Innocent Man," "Her Alibi," "Runaway" and "The High Road to China."

Stephen Baldwin's feature film credits include "Fallacy," "The Flintstones in Viva Las Vegas," "Bio Dome" and "A Simple Twist of Fate." His television credits include "Celebrity Mole: Hawaii," "Celebrity Mole: Yucatan," "Fear Factor" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," on the Network.

Stephanie March was most recently seen on "Law & Order: SVU." She also appeared in "Early Edition," on the Network. Her feature film credits include "Head of State" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

Saul Rubinek's credits include "Gleason," on the Network, and numerous episodes of "Frasier." His feature film credits include "Unforgiven," "The Singing Detective," "Rush Hour 2" and "The Family Man."

Viola Davis appeared in the series "Century City," "City of Angels," and "Hack" for the Network. Her other television credits include "Law & Order: SVU" and the television movies "Amy and Isabelle," "Grace and Glorie," and "The Pentagon Wars." Her feature film credits include, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," "Syriana," "Out of Sight," "Solaris" and "Traffic."

Kohl Sudduth appeared in the series "Grosse Pointe," "Law & Order: SVU" and "Sex and the City." His feature film credits include "The Banger Sisters," "Road Trip," "Bowfinger" and "Rounders."

Polly Shannon appeared in the television series "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye," "Leap Years" and "La Femme Nikita."

Stephen McHattie's feature film credits include "A History of Violence" and "Secretary." His numerous television credits include the series "Beauty and the Beast," "Seinfeld," "Kojak" and "Walker, Texas Ranger," on the Network.

Vito Rezza's television credits include the television movies "America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story," "Haven't We Met Before?," "Boss of Bosses" and the series "1-800-Missing," "Street Time," and "Due South." His feature film credits include "Death to Smoochy," "One Tough Cop" and "It Takes Two."
