NBC UNIVERSAL DOMESTIC TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION REACHES NEW DEAL WITH JERRY SPRINGER

"The Jerry Springer Show" Renewed on Tribune, Sinclair and Other Top Broadcasting Stations Through 2006-2007 TV Season

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA - January 16, 2006 - NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has signed Jerry Springer to a new, multi-year contract and has renewed the hit syndicated series "The Jerry Springer Show" in more than 85% of the country through the 2006-2007 TV season, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Springer, whose talk show is currently in its 15th season, has reached a new accord with NBC Universal that will keep him hosting the hit talk show for years to come. For the upcoming 2006-2007 TV season, "The Jerry Springer Show" has been renewed in 45 of the top 50 markets and on stations from Tribune, Sinclair, Fox, Granite, Hearst-Argyle, Raycom, Emmis, Lin and Clear Channel station groups.

In the just completed November sweep, "The Jerry Springer Show" was up nearly 5% in households and saw gains of 17% across all key female demographics including women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54, according to GAA Nielsen Media Research data (November 2004 vs. November 2005).

"Jerry continues to attract millions of viewers on a daily and weekly basis, a testament to the strong loyal following he has attracted over the years," says Wallach. "Tribune, Sinclair and the other broadcasters that have renewed 'The Jerry Springer Show' for the next several seasons have enjoyed strong ratings over the years with the show and we look forward to many more seasons working with them."

"Now that I've decided not to run for political office, I look forward to continuing to host the television show," says Springer. "I truly enjoy doing it, people seem to enjoy watching it, and it also leaves me with the opportunity of doing my national daily radio show, where I can deal with the more serious issues of the day."

"The Jerry Springer Show" has been renewed on 16 Tribune Broadcasting stations through the 2006-2007 season, including WPIX-TV New York, KTLA-TV Los Angeles, WPHL-TV Philadelphia, KDAF-TV Dallas, WLVI-TV Boston and WBDC Washington. Sinclair Broadcasting has renewed the show in 27 markets, including WBFF-TV/WNUV-TV Baltimore, WPGH-TV Pittsburgh, WLFL-TV Raleigh, WZTV-Nashville and WTTE-TV Columbus.

Currently in its 15th season, "The Jerry Springer Show" tackles real-life topics featuring its signature edgy guests and outrageous Springer-style relationships. The show debuted in national syndication in September 1991 and is now seen on nearly 200 stations in the U.S. and more than 50 countries worldwide. Richard Dominick is Executive Producer of "The Jerry Springer Show."
