BRAVO'S "PROJECT RUNWAY" #1 PROGRAM ON CABLE IN 18-49 DEMO FOR THE DAY
BREAKS HIT SERIES' RECORD REACHING 1.8 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS
NEW YORK -- January 19, 2005 -- Last night, Bravo's hit series Project Runway was the #1 series on cable for the day in the 18-49 demo reaching 1.4 million viewers, and broke the series' record in the younger demo sets by reaching its highest audience in 18-34 and 18-49. The announcement was made today by Lauren Zalaznick, President, Bravo.
* JUST THE FACTS: On Wednesday, January 18 at 10:00 pm, Project Runway averaged 1.3 million HH; 1.8 million Total Viewers; 905,000 Persons 18-34; 1.4 million Persons 18-49; and 1.03 million Persons 25-54.
* HIGHEST EVER IN KEY DEMOS: The 18-34 and 18-49 averages represent highs for the history of the series, including the season one finale.
* WOMEN LIKE TO WATCH: Last night telecast brought in all time highs for women with 649,000 Women 18-34 and 985,000 Women 18-49. Additionally, Project Runway was the #1 cable program for the day among Women 18-34 (649,000) and Women 18-49 (985,000).
* YOUNGEST EVER: The median age for the telecast was 30.6, lowest for any Runway premiere telecast in either season.
* WEEK TO WEEK INCREASES: The program has increased its audience with every new premiere episode among Total Viewers (2+) and for the P18-49 and P25-54 demos.
Last night's episode titled "On Thin Ice" gave a nod to the upcoming Olympics: The designers were asked to create an ice skating outfit for 2002 Olympic figure skater, Sasha Cohen. Before beginning the design process Sasha treats them to figure skating lessons and the designers strut their stuff on the ice. Later in the workroom, tension builds as the designers are openly critical about each other's work. On the runway, one of the designers is put on the line for going way "over the top" and Sasha picks the winner, agreeing to wear their outfit in a future competition
