NBC PRIMETIME RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 10-16

BURBANK, Calif. -- April 18, 2006 -- NBC averaged a 2.6 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 8.0 million viewers overall for the week of April 10-16 according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Primetime averages for the week of April 10-16 in adults 18-49 were Fox (4.0/12), ABC (3.4/10), CBS (3.3/10), NBC (2.6/8), Univision (1.5/4), WB (1.2/3), UPN (1.1/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (11.4 million), ABC (9.7 million), Fox (9.6 million), NBC (8.0 million), Univision (3.4 million), WB (2.9 million), UPN (2.7 million) and Telemundo (0.7 million). NOTE: Among the key NBC shows that were either in rebroadcast or pre-empted during this week were "ER," "My Name is Earl," "The Office," "Will & Grace," "Law & Order: SVU," "Medium," Friday's "Deal or No Deal" and "Law & Order."

NBC highlights for the week of April 10-16:

* On Monday, "Deal or No Deal" ranked #1 in 18-49, total viewers and all key measures. "Deal" was up 43 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's pre-"Deal" season average for the time period (excluding Olympics) and was 26 percent ahead of its nearest competitor in the hour in 18-49.

* On Wednesday, "Deal or No Deal" surged by 25 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its second, despite facing competition from "American Idol" during its second half-hour. "Deal," which also grew by more than two million viewers from half-hour to half-hour, won the full hour among total viewers, despite the "Idol" onslaught during the second half-hour. "Deal" was up 64 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's pre-"Deal" season average for the time period (excluding Olympics).

* On Thursday, NBC ranked #2 in adults 18-49, as an all-encore line-up of "Will & Grace," "My Name is Earl," "The Office" and "ER" beat all first-run competition on ABC, Fox, WB and UPN.

* On Friday, an encore telecast of "Deal or No Deal" was #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures.

* On Sunday, "Crossing Jordan" delivered its highest 18-49 rating since Jan. 8 and its highest total viewership since Oct. 9.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of live only results through Dec. 25 and "live plus seven day" data since then, except for the two most recent weeks, which are live plus same day.

Non-sports averages for the 2005-06 television season among adults 18-49 are: CBS (a 3.8 rating), Fox (3.8), ABC (3.7), NBC (3.1), WB (1.3), and UPN (1.2).

Additional NBC highlights for the week of April 10-16:

On Monday, April 10, from 8-9:02 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (4.3 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49, 14.5 million viewers overall) was #1 in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. In 18-49, "Deal" ruled by 26 percent over its nearest competitor in the hour (4.3 vs. 3.4 for Fox's "Prison Break") and posted a 43 percent improvement versus NBC's pre-"Deal" non-sports season average for the time period. From its first half-hour to its second, "Deal" surged by 24 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.7/13 from a 3.8/12) and by 2.7 million viewers.

Also on Monday from 9:02-11 p.m. ET, "The Apprentice 5" (3.7/9 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) built steadily over its four half-hours, increasing from a 3.3/8 in its first half-hour to a 4.0/10 in its fourth and final half-hour.

On Tuesday, April 11 at 9 p.m. ET, "Scrubs" (2.8/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) finished #2 among adults, men and women 18-34. "Scrubs" was up 17 percent in adults 18-49 versus its performance in this slot on the same night last year (2.8/7 vs. 2.4/6). At 9:30 p.m., "Teachers" (2.4/6 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) retained 86 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "Scrubs." "Teachers" ranked #2 in its competitive slot among adults 18-34 (tied with "The Unit" on CBS). At 10 p.m. a special Tuesday telecast of "Conviction" averaged a 2.5/7 in 18-49 and 7.5 million viewers overall.

On Wednesday, April 12 from 8-9:01 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (4.1/12 in 18-49, 13.1 million viewers overall) built strongly from half-hour to half-hour despite facing head-to-head competition from "American Idol" in the 8:30-9 p.m. slot. "Deal" increased by 25 percent in 18-49 (to a 4.5 from a 3.6) and by more than two million viewers from its first to its second half-hour. "Deal" won the 8-9 p.m. hour in total viewers despite "Idol's" domination of the 8:30-9 p.m. half-hour.

"Deal or No Deal" was up 64 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's pre-"Deal," non-sports season average for the time period.

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order" (2.7/7 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) built by 42 percent on its 18-49 lead-in from the previous time period -- a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall for "Heist" from 9:01-10 p.m. ET.

With an all-repeat line-up, NBC ranked #2 on Thursday April 13 in the key demographic of adults 18-49. ABC, CBS, Fox, WB and UPN were all first-run Thursday night.

Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, an encore "Will & Grace" (2.2/8 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, beating first-run competition from ABC's "American Inventor," Fox's "That '70s Show," WB's "Smallville" and UPN's "Everybody Hates Chris." At 8:30 p.m., an encore "My Name is Earl" (2.6/8 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 18 percent in 18-49 and also ranked #2 in 18-49 opposite first-run competition.

Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "My Name is Earl" (3.1/9 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, beating such first-run competition as "American Inventor" on ABC and "The O.C." on Fox. At 9:30 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Office" averaged a 2.6/7 in 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall.

At 10 p.m. ET, an encore "ER" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, outperforming the first-run time period debut of "Commander-in-Chief" on ABC.

On Friday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Deal or No Deal" (3.2/12 in 18-49, 11.2 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and all key ratings categories. The margin of victory in 18-49 was 52 percent (3.2 vs. a 2.1 for CBS' second-place "Ghost Whisperer" encore). "Deal" was up 45 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's pre-"Deal" average for the slot (3.2 vs. 2.2).

Friday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore "Las Vegas" averaged a 2.0/7 in 18-49 and 6.7 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., "Conviction" delivered a 2.0/6 in 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall.

On Sunday, April 16 at 8 p.m. ET, "The West Wing" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 8.3 million viewers overall) built by 47 percent in adults 18-49 on its lead-in -- a 1.5/5 in 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall for "Dateline NBC" from 7-8 p.m. ET.

Sunday at 9 p.m., "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (3.4/8 in 18-49, 11.9 million viewers overall) grew by 54 percent in 18-49 rating versus its lead-in to deliver its highest demo rating in five weeks. "Criminal Intent" ranked #2 for the time period in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Crossing Jordan" (3.7/10 in 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall) delivered its highest 18-49 rating since Jan. 8 and highest total viewership since Oct. 9. "Jordan ranked a strong #2 by virtually all key measures, more than doubling the third-place competition in adults 18-49 (3.7 vs. a 1.6 for CBS' movie).
