EMMY NOMINEE PETER KRAUSE SIGNS ON FOR LEAD IN SCI FI CHANNEL'S THE LOST ROOM

PASADENA, Calif. - July 13, 2006 - Peter Krause, 2006 Emmy nominee for Six Feet Under, has been cast as the lead actor in SCI FI Channel's 2006 limited series event The Lost Room (previously announced as the working title Motel Man), it was announced today by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of original Programming, SCI FI Channel. Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), the leading independent filmed entertainment studio, is producing the series, which is set to begin shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 19th with Richard Hatem (Supernatural, The Mothman Prophecies) serving as Executive Producer. The Lost Room is slated to premiere in December of 2006. The project was created and written by co-executive producers Christopher Leone, Laura Harkcom and Paul Workman.

Peter Krause is best known for his role as "Nate Fisher" on the critically acclaimed and award-winning HBO series, Six Feet Under, which concluded its fifth and final season last year. Last week, Peter received his third Emmy nomination as Best Male Actor in a Drama Series for his performance. He has also been nominated for 2 Golden Globe Awards and 2 SAG Awards for his work on Six Feet Under. Peter was previously known for starring as "Casey McCall" on Aaron Sorkin's short-lived but much loved ABC comedy Sports Night. He was last seen starring in the independent feature, "Civic Duty."

Elle Fanning (The Door in the Floor, Because of Winn Dixie) has been cast to play Krause's daughter. The Lost Room marks the second appearance by Elle Fanning in a SCI FI Channel movie event. She made a brief appearance in SCI FI's 2002 Emmy winning miniseries Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN that starred and helped launch the career of her older sister, Dakota Fanning.

Craig R. Baxley, who directed SCI FI's wildly successful 2005 miniseries event The Triangle, and Michael Watkins, co-executive producer and director of Prison Break (FOX) who also directed an installment of the Emmy-nominated Into The West and SCI FI's miniseries 5ive Days To Midnight, will share directing duties on The Lost Room.

The Fugitive meets The Twilight Zone in this contemporary sci-fi thriller. When homicide detective Joe Miller (Krause) stumbles upon a seemingly innocuous motel room key, he unlocks the door to a world of unimaginable power and becomes the target of those who will stop at nothing to claim it. The motel room is a treasure trove of seemingly mundane objects, each of which actually possesses a unique power. And as Joe soon discovers, the motel room key is the most potent and coveted object of all. Shadowy organizations dedicated to collecting these charmed objects relentlessly pursue him, hoping to claim the key. When his daughter (Fanning) vanishes inside the motel room, he also becomes the focus of a heated police investigation. Hunted and alone, Joe becomes the central player in a game to which he doesn't know the rules.

The program continues the tradition of SCI FI's blockbuster television events, which have included the hit originals The Triangle, Legend of Earthsea, Battlestar Galactica, Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN and Frank Herbert's Dune.
