Fantastic Four New Series Premiere Leads Cartoon Network�s Prime Time and Total Day Double-Digit Growth Among Kids 6-11

Boosted by the heroic exploits of its newest animated series from Marvel Comics and Moonscoop Animation, Cartoon Network�s premiere of Fantastic Four (Saturday, 8 p.m.) scored double-digit delivery and ratings gains among targeted kids 6-11, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. The performance helped the network chart mostly double-digit prime time and total day weekly delivery and ratings growth vs. the same time period last year among all key demos, including kids 6-11, kids 2-11 and tweens 9-14.

Highlights of Cartoon Network�s performance vs. the same 2005 time period include the following:

Fantastic Four (Saturday, 8 p.m.) vs. the same time period last year

- Kids 6-11 delivery (596,000) increased by 18% and ratings (2.5) by 19%

- Kids 2-11 delivery (790,000) expanded by 10% and ratings (2.0) by 11%

PRIME TIME (Mon.-Thurs. 8-10:30 p.m., Fri.-Sat. 8-11 p.m., Sun. 8-10 p.m.) vs. the same time period last year

- Kids 6-11 delivery (697,000) and ratings (2.9) both advanced by 16%

- Kids 2-11 delivery (933,000) grew by 9% and ratings (2.3) by 10%

- Tweens 9-14 delivery (508,000) jumped by 8% and ratings (2.1) by 11%

TOTAL DAY (Mon.-Thurs. 6 a.m.-10:30 p.m., Fri. 6 a.m.-6 a.m., Sat. 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Sun. 6 a.m.-10 p.m.) vs. the same time period last year

- Kids 6-11 delivery (492,000) expanded by 20% and ratings (2.0) by 18%

- Kids 2-11 delivery (698,000) increased by 13% and ratings (1.7) both increased by 6%

- Tweens 9-14 delivery (351,000) improved by 19% and ratings (1.4) by 17%

When an experimental space voyage goes awry, four people (Fantastic Four) are changed by cosmic rays. Scientist Reed Richards gains the ability to stretch his body into various contortions, and takes the name Mr. Fantastic. His wife, Sue Richards, receives the power to turn invisible and create force fields, calling herself the Invisible Woman. Her younger brother, Johnny Storm, gains the ability to control fire, becoming the Human Torch. And pilot Ben Grimm is turned into a super-strong rock creature calling himself Thing. Together, they use their unique powers to help the world battle multiple threats, and to foil the evil plans of their equally powerful enemy, Doctor Doom.
