Lifetime Partners with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to Raise Awareness on Underage and Binge Drinking

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 -- Principal photography has been completed on the Lifetime Original Movie "The Party Never Stops," the story of a bright and ambitious college freshman who falls into the world of non-stop partying and binge drinking leading to devastating results, it was announced today by Libby Beers, Vice President, Original Movies. Sara Paxton ("Aquamarine," "Darcy's Wildlife") stars as college student Jesse Tanner, along with Nancy Travis ("Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," "Three Men and a Baby") as her mother April and Chelsea Hobbs ("Lords of Dogtown," Lifetime Television's "Beach Girls") as her roommate Shanna. "The Party Never Stops" will premiere in March 2007 on Lifetime.

"As a parent of a college freshman, this story really hits close to home," said Beers. "Binge drinking on college campuses has become a huge epidemic -- oftentimes with tragic consequences." Beers continues, "We hope this story will encourage parents and their teens to talk openly about the dangers of alcohol abuse."

In "The Party Never Stops," 18-year-old track star Jesse (Paxton) is finally ready to spread her wings as she moves away from her mother April (Travis) and younger sister Sadie to begin her first year of college. At school, she instantly hits it off with her new roommate Shanna (Hobbs), a beautiful and outgoing co-ed, and together, they discover the freedom of college life as well as its temptations. Innocent "partying" soon gets out of control and they find themselves sucked into the binge drinking lifestyle -- skipping classes, falling grades and lying to their parents to cover it all up. As constant partying begins to take its toll on Jesse, April questions her daughter's sudden irresponsible behavior. But when Shanna's binge drinking gets out of control, Jesse experiences first-hand the heartbreaking repercussions of her own drinking and partying.

More than seven million teens and young adults, ages 12 to 20, report that they binge drink. As part of Lifetime's long-standing commitment to raising awareness about the issues facing families and teens, the Network will partner with leading government and nonprofit organizations, such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the YWCA, to provide additional information and resources on LifetimeTV.com. Lifetime will also air a PSA with Sara Paxton and Nancy Travis following the film's premiere addressing underage and binge drinking.

Sara Paxton landed her first film role at age eight in the theatrical "Liar, Liar." Most recently, she starred in the title role of "Aquamarine" opposite Emma Roberts and singer JoJo. Her other film credits include "Sleepover," "Solider" and "Music from Another Room." Paxton appeared on television in "Malcolm in the Middle," "Darcy's Wild Life," "Summerland" and "Welcome to Tucson." Paxton is a recent high school graduate.

Chelsea Hobbs starred in the Lifetime series "Beach Girls" with Rob Lowe and Julia Ormond. She was also seen in Lifetime's "More Sex and the Single Mom," Fox's "Pasadena" with Dana Delany and starred in the television series adaptation of the feature film, "Save the Last Dance." Hobbs also appeared in the feature films "The Lords of Dogtown" and "The Unknown."

Nancy Travis began her career in theater in the national tour of Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs." She also starred in the award-winning Broadway play "I'm Not Rappaport" with Cleavon Little and Judd Hirsch. She is a founding member of the off-Broadway theater company, Naked Angels. Travis' television roles include starring in the CBS series "Almost Perfect" and Showtime's "Fallen Angels" with Peter Gallagher and Isabella Rossellini. Other television credits include "Becker," "Rose Red" and "Talk Show Diaries." Travis has also starred in many hit movies including "Three Men and a Baby" and its sequel, "Three Men and a Little Lady;" "Married to the Mob," "The Vanishing" and most recently, "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."

"The Party Never Stops" is produced by Muse Entertainment Enterprises for Lifetime Television. Monica Parker (Lifetime Television's "Hunger Point"), Ellyn Williams (Lifetime Television's "The Fantasia Barrino Story: Life is Not a Fairy Tale") and Michael Prupas (Lifetime's "Human Trafficking") served as executive producers. Ted Bauman (Lifetime Television's "Augusta, Gone") is the producer and David Wu ("Silent Hill") served as director. The telefilm is written by Matt Dorff (Lifetime Television's "Lies My Mother Told Me").
