ROB LOWE EXTENDS HIS GUEST STARRING ROLE ON ABCS HIT DRAMA BROTHERS & SISTERS

Rob Lowe (The West Wing) extends his role on the ABC Television Networks Brothers & Sisters as a special guest star through the shows freshman season. Lowe plays conservative Senator Robert McCallister, with whom Kitty Walker has recently formed an unorthodox professional and potentially romantic relationship. The series returns to the ABC Television Network with original episodes this SUNDAY, JANUARY 7 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

The Emmy nominated Lowe played Sam Seaborn in NBCs award-winning drama series, The West Wing. He most recently starred in the hit satire Thank You for Smoking and the upcoming thriller, Stir of Echoes: The Homecoming. He made his feature film debut in Francis Ford Coppolas The Outsiders, and later went on to star in such other popular dramas as St. Elmos Fire, About Last Night and Bad Influence, as well as in the blockbuster comedies Waynes World, Tommy Boy and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, among many others. His other television credits include A Perfect Day, Beach Girls, Salems Lot, The Christmas Shoes and The Stand, and he produced the series The Lyons Den and Dr. Vegas.

On November 19, when Rob Lowe first appeared on the series, Brothers & Sisters equaled its highest Adult 18-49 rating since its debut telecast (on 9/24/06), while posting series highs with Men 18-49 and Men 25-54.

During Sundays 10 o'clock hour, Brothers & Sisters leads its veteran CBS drama competition (Without a Trace/Cold Case) across the adult demographics (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54). The new ABC drama dominates the 10 oclock hour across each of the women demographics, beating NBCs NFL coverage. Brothers & Sisters is the second-highest rated new TV series this season among Adults 18-49 and the top new program on any night during the 10 oclock hour in the key young adult sales demo. Its the No. 1 new television series this season with Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. Brothers & Sisters ranks among the Top 5 highest-rated TV series with high income Adults 18-49 ($100K+ annual income) and stands as this season's No. 1 new series in the top Nielsen upscale category.

Brothers & Sisters stars Calista Flockhart as Kitty, Rachel Griffiths as Sarah, Sally Field as Nora Holden, Ron Rifkin as Saul Holden, Patricia Wettig as Holly, Balthazar Getty as Thomas, Dave Annable as Justin, Matthew Rhys as Kevin, John Pyper-Ferguson as Joe and Sarah Jane Morris as Julia.

Ken Olin (Alias, thirtysomething), Jon Robin Baitz (The Substance of Fire, The West Wing) and Greg Berlanti (Everwood) are executive producers. The series is produced by Touchstone Television.
