HOT FROM FOX...

LAUREN GOTTLIEB AND PASHA KOVALEV ELIMINATED ON "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE"

FINAL FOUR DANCERS TO COMPETE ON THE LAST PERFORMANCE SHOW WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15, ON FOX

AMERICA'S FAVORITE DANCER WILL WALTZ OFF WITH $250,000; RYAN CABRERA AND NICOLE SCHERZINGER TO PERFORM ON THE SEASON FINALE THURSDAY, AUGUST 16

On last night's special results show, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE host Cat Deeley announced that Lauren Gottlieb and Pasha Kovalev were eliminated from the competition based on total votes received after the Top 6 dancers performed on Wednesday, Aug. 8. Gottlieb, 19, is a contemporary/jazz dancer from Scottsdale, AZ; and Kovalev, 27, is a Latin Ballroom dancer from Fort Lee, NJ.

Each of the Top 6 contestants was showcased in a solo dance on the results show (which aired on a special day and time due to last Thursday's preemption for NFL pre-season football). In addition, Titus Fotso gave a powerful performance with the African Dance Music Ensemble, and Lil C and the Neph Squad returned to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE stage to perform a Krump routine to "Nephz Up!" by Tha J Squad.

With only the two-night, four-hour season finale remaining, the competition is reaching a crescendo as the Top 4 contestants prepare for their last performances in the quest for the title of America's Favorite Dancer and the $250,000 cash prize. The remaining finalists (Neil Haskell, Sabra Johnson, Lacey Schwimmer and Danny Tidwell) will compete on Part 1 of the Season Finale a special two-hour final performance show airing Wednesday, Aug. 15 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The voting outcome will be announced and America's Favorite Dancer revealed on the live two-hour Season Finale, Part 2, airing Thursday, Aug. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). In addition, pop-rock artist Ryan Cabrera and former Pussycat Dolls lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger will perform musical numbers.

Since the summer 2004 release of the platinum-selling album "Take It All Away," Dallas-born tunesmith Ryan Cabrera has been regarded as one of the most compelling new voices on the modern pop scene. A songwriter, singer and musician, he has emerged as a captivating live performer and charismatic personality. "Take It All Away" debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold a month after its release.

The album's success was fueled by the hits "On the Way Down" and "True," both RIAA gold-certified digital singles. "Take It All Away" followed Cabrera's self-produced 2001 indie release, "Elm Street," which became a staple in college dorm rooms across the country.

On "You Stand Watching," the self-produced follow-up to "Take It All Away," Cabrera refines his artful pop-rock sound with a musically diverse set of songs that showcase his rapid growth as composer, lyricist and performer. His future plans include trying his hand at producing other artists.

Hawaii-born Nicole Scherzinger was raised in Louisville, KY, where she attended the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School and performed with Actors Theatre of Louisville. She majored in theater arts at Wright State University but put her studies on hold in 1999 to sing backing vocals for the band Days of the New. In 2001, she competed on the premiere season of the television show "Popstars" and earned a spot in the all-girl pop group Eden's Crush, whose single "Get Over Yourself" hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After Eden's Crush disbanded, Scherzinger worked with Yoshiki Hayashi on his Violet UK project, singing the English version of "I'll Be Your Love" live with the Tokyo Symphonic Orchestra. In June 2003, Scherzinger joined The Pussycat Dolls as lead vocalist and can be heard on the group's Top-5 hits "Don't Cha," "Buttons," "Wait a Minute" and "Stickwitu," and on their Top-20 hit "Beep." Her debut solo album, "Her Name is Nicole," will be available on Oct. 16.

Emmy-nominated SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and dick clark productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Barry Adelman.
