Potts Continues To Lead The Way In Bringing Viewers The Latest Breaking News On Hollywood's Biggest Stories

BURBANK, Calif. -- October 31, 2007 -- "Access Hollywood" correspondent and weekend co-host Tony Potts has signed a new, multi-year contract to remain with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's top-rated entertainment newsmagazine "Access Hollywood," it was announced today by the show's Executive Producer Rob Silverstein.

"Tony Potts is the go-to guy when it comes to celebrity breaking news," says Silverstein. "His stellar reporting during the Anna Nicole Smith story helped, once again, set 'Access Hollywood' apart from the competition. Tony is likeable and relatable; someone our audience trusts."

"It's great to not only have the audience's trust, but also the confidence of NBC Universal and 'Access Hollywood' to offer me this new deal," Potts said. "There is not a better entertainment news show in the business, with a better attitude and with better people than 'Access Hollywood' and I continue to feel right at home."

Potts joined "Access Hollywood" in April 1999, coming to the show after 12 years in television news and sports. During his tenure at "Access Hollywood," the award-winning journalist has covered some of the top breaking entertainment news stories including the tragic and complex Anna Nicole Smith following her death in February 2007. He was on location from Florida to the Bahamas and all way to Louisville, Kentucky when Smith's daughter, Dannielynn, made her first trip to the United States.

In addition to his duties at "Access Hollywood," Potts also contributes to the "Today" show, MSNBC, CNBC and CNN's "Larry King Live" and "Showbiz Tonight." He has also stepped in as a guest host for Larry King on CNN's "Larry King Live."

The Seattle-native who now resides in Los Angeles also has a couple of film and television credits to his name, including appearances in the Mel Gibson film, "Ransom," the 2002-2003 season finale of the CBS hit show "CSI:Miami," plus a number of episodes of Courtney Cox's show, "Dirt."

Potts has also traveled across the globe to interview the biggest stars in film, music and television including an exclusive interview with Julia Roberts when she made her Broadway debut. He has covered Italy's Venice Film Festival, France's Cannes Film Festival and Deauxville Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Park City's Sundance Film Festival.

Prior to joining "Access Hollywood," Potts co-hosted Fox's "Good Day New York" and anchored the "Fox News at Noon" where he covered New York City's biggest news stories. This included hosting Fox's live broadcast of the Pope's historic mass in Central Park. In addition, Potts broke a story regarding corrupt cab drivers and owners, which resulted in the overhaul of New York's Taxi and Limousine Commission's procedures.
