Nominations Are Distributed Among Many Programs as Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Patricia Arquette, Steve Carell, Hugh Laurie, Debra Messing and Jaime Pressly Are Honored

BURBANK, Calif. December 13, 2007 NBC Universal Television captured a total of nine Golden Globe Award nominations today, paced by seven for Universal Media Studios and six for NBC -- which allowed the network and studio to share acclaim for "30 Rock," among those named as Best Television Series-Comedy or Musical -- while the studio's "House" was nominated as Best Television Series-Drama. The announcements were made early today by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The nominations were distributed across a variety of programs. Among individual artists, Tina Fey of the NBC's Emmy Award-winning "30 Rock" earned a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical. Likewise, her "30 Rock" co-star, Alec Baldwin, again was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical (Baldwin won the Golden Globe last year for his performance in the same role of network executive Jack Donaghy). Overall, "30 Rock" received three nominations, the most for any comedy series.

Steve Carell of NBC's "The Office" -- produced by Universal Media Studios -- also was included among the nominees in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical. Carell won the Golden Globe in 2006 for his performance in the same role of pompous office boss Michael Scott.

Other NBC nominees include Emmy winner Patricia Arquette of "Medium," who was among the finalists in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Drama. Arquette also was nominated in 2005 and 2006 for her performance in the same role as Allison Dubois, and took home the Golden Globe in 2006. Emmy winner Jaime Pressly of "My Name Is Earl" was nominated for her first Golden Globe in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television category.

Hugh Laurie of Universal Media Studios' "House" on Fox scored a nomination as Best Actor in a Television Series-Drama to go along with the series nomination as Best Television Series-Drama. Laurie also is a previous two-time winner of the Golden Globe for his work in the same role.

In addition, Emmy winner Debra Messing received a nomination for USA's "The Starter Wife" miniseries (from Universal Media Studios) in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

"It is very rewarding to see the work of so many of NBC Universal's artists honored with Golden Globe nominations today," said Marc Graboff, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. "We share in their sense of accomplishment that is acknowledged by this truly prestigious recognition."

"We are proud of the ongoing success of so many of NBC Universal's shows, including '30 Rock' and 'House,' that were recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association this morning," said Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. "These are well-deserved nominations and we look ahead with even greater excitement to the awards on NBC next month, which always prove to be the best celebrity showcase of the year."

Universal Media Studios matched its seven nominations from last year's Golden Globes.

The winners will be announced on NBC's exclusive live broadcast of "The 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards" on January 13, 2008 (8-11 p.m. ET).
