New York, April 28, 2008 � Following record-breaking ratings success over the last 18
months, History(TM) today announced an ambitious slate of seven new series in production
that will continue to propel the network's dominance as the premiere destination for all
things history. The series, set to premiere in 2008 and 2009, cover a variety of historical
topics, such as the complexity of machines, remarkable trains, ancient battles, historical
inventions, underground construction, seminal moments in history and the evolution of
civilization. The announcement was made by Nancy Dubuc, Executive Vice President
and General Manager, History.
"Powered by a hugely successful 2007 and our strongest first quarter ever in 2008,
History has broken records in every single target metric with double digit increases in all
the key demographics on every night of the week. Add to that the launch of our top nine
series of all time, and our momentum just keeps getting stronger," said Dubuc.
New series are:
Evolve � A riveting look at the history of the key innovations that have driven nature's evolutionary path from the dawn of life to today. Premieres 2nd Quarter 2008 � 13 Episodes. Executive Producer for History is Charles Nordlander. Produced by Optomen Productions.
Extreme Trains - Train conductor Matt Bown lends his expertise to this series that profiles the history of the longest, strongest, highest, fastest, and just plain coolest trains on the planet! Premieres 4th Quarter 2008 - 8 Episodes. Executive Producer for History is Dirk Hoogstra. Produced by Tiger Aspect Productions.
The Works � Daniel H. Wilson puts complex subjects such as steel, motorcycles and power tools under the microscope revealing their history and unseen secrets and finds enough fascinating "did you know" facts that would make the most knowledgeable of history buffs scratch his head. "American Original" Sandhogs � Having built nearly every tunnel and underground project in New York City, Sandhogs have been an instrumental part of the development of the city. This new "American Original" explores the history of a world rarely seen, but one that is integral to the lifeblood of America's largest city. Premieres 3rd Quarter 2008 - 12 Episodes. What Went Down � A front-row-center seat for the most amazing unseen moments in history, meticulously rendered in high-definition CGI from the point of view of key witnesses who were in the center of the action. Battles B.C. � Ancient battles meet the contemporary visual style of Last Stand of the 300 in this series that will focus on the heroes and military strategies of the ancient world. Premieres 2009 � 8 Episodes. Executive Producer for History is Susan Werbe. Produced by Four In Hand Productions.

The return of Ice Road Truckers, the most popular series to date on History, is set for June 8. The previously announced Eyes on Target (wt) from Reveille and Cabana 9, will debut in 4th Quarter 2008 and Jurassic Fight Club from 1080 Inc. will premiere in 3rd Quarter 2008.
