Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Chalke to Host the 2008 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy(R) Awards

Lee Miller and Spike Jones, Jr. Return to Produce Show to be Held on Saturday, September 13 at NOKIA Theatre

North Hollywood, CA � How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris and Scrubs' Sarah Chalke and will host the 2008 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy� Awards on Saturday, September 13 from the NOKIA Theatre it was announced today by Lee Miller and Steve Venezia, Executive Producers of the Creative Arts show. The show will air as a 2-hour special on E! Entertainment Television on Saturday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m.

Spike Jones Jr. will return to produce the show for the fourteenth year. "Everyone knows how great Neil and Sarah are as actors. Now they'll get the opportunity to see how fearless they are as live hosts," said Jones, Jr.

Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris received his second Primetime Emmy� nomination this year for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as Barney Stinson on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother." A television favorite since his Golden Globe Award-nominated role in "Doogie Howser, M.D.," Harris has since firmly established himself in all mediums.

On the stage, he most recently starred in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Other recent theater credits include star-turns in the London musical production of Jonathan Larson's "Tick, Tick�Boom," the Tony Award-winning musical "Assassins," "Cabaret" and "Proof."

Harris' additional television credits include the series "Stark Raving Mad," "Will & Grace," "NUMB3RS," the mini-series "Joan of Arc," and the CBS television movie "The Christmas Blessing." Harris� film work began with �Clara�s Heart,� and includes the recent release �Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.�

Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke stars as 'Dr. Elliot Reid' on the critically acclaimed comedy series, "Scrubs� which makes its move to ABC this season. Chalke's 'Reid' is an overly ambitious doctor serving her residence at the hospital, sharing hilarious encounters and poignant moments with the unpredictable staffers and insane patients who surround her.

A native of Ottawa, Canada, Chalke was raised in Vancouver and began appearing in local musical theatre productions when she was 8. A few years later she became an environmental reporter for the Canadian series "Kid Zone." Her big break came in 1993 when she was cast as Becky Conner on the series "Roseanne."

The "Scrubs" star has most recently appeared in the Warner Bros feature film "Chaos Theory" alongside Ryan Reynolds and Emily Mortimer as well as the Warner Independent comedy "Mama's Boy" opposite Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels and Jon Heder.

In addition, she was the lead in Lifetime's Primetime Emmy-nominated move, "Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy." Chalke also has a recurring role on CBS�s �How I Met Your Mother� as Dr. Stella Zinman opposite Josh Radnor.

Spike Jones, Jr.

Through his company SJ2 Entertainment, Spike Jones, Jr. has established himself as a leading player in the areas of awards shows and live TV variety shows. He has taken the Creative Arts ceremony from a dinner dance to a major annual event.

He has produced award ceremonies for The Museum of Television & Radio in both New York and Los Angeles as well as the live red carpet arrivals for the 2007 and 2006 Independent Spirit Awards for the WE Network and Spike TV's Video Game Awards Arrivals and After Bash.

Jones has a long list of credits with the major networks and has also produced and directed projects for HBO, Oxygen, Showtime, A&E Networks, MTV, VH1, The History Channel, Spike TV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite.

Lee Miller

Lee Miller is co-chair of the 2008 Creative Arts Awards and serves on the Television Academy's Executive Committee. He has had a varied career in television with credits in series, specials, sit-coms and made-for-television movies.

He has served as producer, director, and associate producer on specials starring Cher, Doris Day, Garth Brooks and on such events as the Tony Awards, The Academy Awards, People's Choice Awards, Special Olympics and 17 Jerry Lewis MDA telethons.

Steve Venezia

Steve Venezia is co-chair of the 2008 Creative Arts Awards and serves on the Television Academy's Board of Governors. He is manager of digital television broadcasting for Dolby Laboratories' Burbank office.

Upon joining Dolby in 1995, he worked intensively on the adoption and launch of digital television and HDTV. Venezia's involvement in television sound extends across broadcast, cable and satellite networks, postproduction, and industry standards organizations.

He works with both the creative and engineering communities who produce and distribute multichannel audio for episodic, sports and special event programming. Venezia began his career in audio in 1976 and worked with a variety of musical artists including Frank Zappa, Dire Straits, INXS and Tom Waits.

The 2008 Creative Arts Awards will present Emmys in over 70 categories including those given for Outstanding Guest Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Guest Actor/Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Reality Series and Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special.
