OPRAH WINFREY TO MAKE A VERY SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE AT "THE 60th PRIMETIME EMMY� AWARDS," SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 ON ABC
Oprah Winfrey will be returning to the Primetime Emmy� Awards for a very special guest appearance celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the TV Academy. Winfrey will appear at the star-studded event which will broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC.
"Oprah Winfrey epitomizes all that is wonderful about television. Along with the Academy, our goal this year has been to celebrate this incredible medium. It is not only fitting, but an honor to have her be a part of this 60th Anniversary show," said Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment.
"Oprah Winfrey has been such a part of television for so many years that to have her participate in this year's show was very important to us. We're thrilled that she has accepted our invitation to be here to celebrate the TV Academy's 60th Anniversary," said Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich.
"The 60th Primetime Emmy� Awards" is being produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures LLC. Returning with Ehrlich are producer Renato Basile and co-producer Danette Herman. Louis J. Horvitz will be directing.
