"THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW" IS RETURNING TO ITS ROOTS FOR ITS 18TH SEASON AND SPRINGER HIMSELF IS IN SEARCH OF HIS FIRST-EVER DAYTIME EMMY

Hit Syndicated Talk Show and Companion Website (JerrySpringerTV.com) Asking For America's Help To Get Springer Elusive Award

Says Springer: "18 Seasons And No Emmy, Susan Lucci Has Got Nothing On Me.It's About Time I Get One, Don't You Think America?"

Chicago, Illinois-Sept 17, 2008 -Hit daytime talk show "The Jerry Springer Show" is going back to its roots for its 18th season and host Jerry Springer is on a mission heading into the new year, he wants to win his first-ever Daytime Emmy Award.

With the new season kicking off Monday September 22, "The Jerry Springer Show" is returning to the days of wild stories, outrageous guests, conflicts and especially more of the man himself, Jerry Springer.

Springer, who is the host of NBC's smash hit "America's Got Talent," has seen enough wacky acts on his primetime show, so this season "The Jerry Springer Show" is returning to old school "Springer." And the veteran host believes the return to form should help achieve his biggest career goal, to finally win a Daytime Emmy - "Or at least get an invitation to sit in the audience and watch the ceremonies" says Springer, "Even way in the back is okay."

"18 Seasons and no Emmy, Susan Lucci has got nothing on me," says Springer. "This is our year and we are pulling out all the stops, well at least we are campaigning at truck stops. Please help me by going to our show's website or better yet, maybe you can join the TV Academy?"

"The American television audience has fallen in love with Jerry all over again and this season we are giving the viewers what they want, more Jerry," says Executive Producer Rachelle Consiglio. "And hopefully our efforts will help lead Jerry to that elusive first Daytime Emmy. He definitely deserves one. Ok, maybe not definitely."

Jerry is asking for fan support in his quest for an Emmy and will campaign across the USA this season in an effort to get more consideration. Viewers can log onto the show's website (www.JerrySpringerTV.com), click on "Jerry Wants an Emmy" and give their support for the cause.

Sure, Springer has hosted "The Jerry Springer Show" for 18 years, has a hit primetime show in "America's Got Talent," has finished in the top five on "Dancing with the Stars," had an award-winning Opera named after him, has been the Mayor of a major USA city, has had his own radio show, has hosted international pageants...but something is still missing. Help Jerry in his quest for an Emmy...he has real self-esteem problems.
