Nightly "Best Day Ever" Re-Cap Returns In Its Three-Minute Glory Beginning Monday, October 13

NEW YORK, NY, October 13, 2008 -VH1's long-running weekly pop culture recap series "Best Week Ever" is returning for a new season and this time it's getting personal.

Contributing comic Paul F. Tompkins will take the helm of "Best Week Ever" and take on full-time hosting duties in the new "Best Week Ever With Paul F. Tompkins," premiering on VH1 on Friday, October 24 at 11PM*.

Tompkins will guide viewers through the half-hour rundown that will still celebrate and satirize the week in pop culture in the trademark "Best Week Ever" style with cast members Doug Benson, Mike Britt, comic duo Frangela (Angela V Shelton and Frances Callier) Christian Finnegan, Greg Fitzsimmons, Nick Kroll, Chuck Nice, Melissa Rauch and Jessica St. Clair.

The whole "Best Week Ever" gang will continue to dish on the week's biggest pop culture moments including late breaking celebrity gossip from around the world, the most outrageous moments from daytime television, and an instant recap of prime time's biggest moments.

"For almost five years, Best Week Ever has been a destination for anyone who loves pop culture and comedy. By adding a guide like Paul, a comic with a truly unique voice, we'll be better able to expand our coverage and make the show even stronger," said Jim Ackerman, Senior Vice President of Development, VH1.

Paul F. Tompkins is a longtime fixture on the national comedy circuit having performed stand-up on such television shows as "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "Comedy Central Presents Paul F. Tompkins" while serving as a frequent contributor to MSNBC's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann." Recently, Paul was featured in Showtime's "WEEDS," Comedy Central's "The Sarah Silverman Program." He was also seen in the Academy Award-winning movie "There Will Be Blood."

In addition, VH1 will bring back "Best Day Ever" beginning on Monday evening, October 13 also hosted by Paul F. Tompkins "Best Day Ever" will then air every Monday-Thursday night at 11PM*. Premiering earlier this year, "Best Day Ever" is a fast-paced three and one-half minute rundown on the triumphs and foibles (mostly foibles) of the notorious celebrities and artists who populate the worlds of film, television, music and just plain "celebrity-dom."

"Best Week Ever " is also hitting the road on tour this fall and you can cast members Mike Britt, Christian Finnegan, Greg Fitzsimmons, Chuck Nice and Melissa Rauch performing their stand-up comedy and pop-culture commentary at Rutgers University, The College of New Jersey, and Ohio Wesleyan University on the Best Week Ever Live tour. "Best Week Ever" is VH1's weekly half-hour series that delivers a free-wheeling and funny review of the entertaining news and pop culture developments that make the past week the "best week ever!" The series has been a pioneer in delivering content on multiple platforms including the website bestweekever.tv, VH1 Mobile and the "Best Week Ever" podcast. "Best Week Ever" is a production of VH1 with Sean Johnson and Jim Ackerman serving as Executive Producers.
