BRITNEY SPEARS' NEW SINGLE "WOMANIZER" CAPTURES TRUE ESSENCE OF CHUCK BASS IN NEW "GOSSIP GIRL" PROMO FOR THE CW

The CW Network Teams Up With Jive Records in Unique Promotion Opportunity

October 20, 2008 (Burbank, CA) - Britney Spears' #1 hit song "Womanizer" will be prominently featured in a brand new "Gossip Girl" promo that will center on The CW drama's resident bad boy and the Upper East Side's master manipulator, Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick). The promo spot will begin its four week run on-air on The CW beginning Monday, October 20, as well as online at www.CWTV.com.

This unique promotion marks the first time The CW has produced a special on-air spot for broadcast which will include a chyron identifying the artist performing the highlighted music. Britney Spears will also be a featured artist on www.CWTV.com which will include a link to "Click to Buy" her new single, "Womanizer."

An ideal blend of music and creative visuals, Spears' popular new track "Womanizer" will serve as an appropriate soundtrack for the Chuck Bass promo that chronicles some of Chuck's more infamous, devious or outrageous moments that make him the character that fans love to hate or hate to love.

Britney Spears and "Womanizer" appear courtesy of Jive Records. "Womanizer" is the first single from Britney Spears' up-coming new album "Circus," which will be released on Dec. 2.

Filmed in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, "Gossip Girl" is from Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Paramount Television with executive producers Josh Schwartz ("Chuck," "The O.C."), Stephanie Savage ("The O.C."), Bob Levy ("Privileged"), Leslie Morgenstein ("Privileged"), John Stephens ("Gilmore Girls," "The O.C."), and co-executive producer Joshua Safran.
