THE DEVIL AND SIDNEY KORSHAK (HBO, New!) - Nick Tosches's Vanity Fair article about the legendary showbiz fixer has been optioned by the pay channel. Art Monterastelli ("Rampart") has been tapped to pen the project, which is being developed as a six-hour mini-series, with Robert Evans executive producing. Evans was a longtime friend of Korshak, a Chicago attorney who "came to Hollywood and leveraged relationships with politicians, labor leaders, showbiz and the underworld to become the ultimate behind-the-scenes showbiz fixer" - including serving as trustee of the Central States Teamsters Fund and maintaining relationships with the likes of Lew Wasserman and Henry Kissinger. HBO Productions and Paramount Pictures are co-producing.
THE FISH TANK (CBS) - Chris Elliott is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about a teenager named Fish (Drake Bell) living alone in his family's house. He'll play Buddy, the father of Fish's best friend. Sony Pictures Television is behind the half-hour, which was penned by Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith.
THE STATION (FOX) - Justin Bartha ("Teachers") has been tapped for the lead role on the comedy pilot, about "a covert CIA operative (Bartha) and his workmates who are embedded in a South American country on a mission to install a new dictator." He'll play Eric in the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which comes from creator Kevin Napier and director/fellow executive producer Ben Stiller.
UNTITLED SHERRI SHEPHERD PROJECT (Lifetime) - Melissa Rauch ("Kath & Kim") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a woman (Sherri Shepherd) who works at a law firm and contends with her husband's infidelity. She'll play Angie, the new girl at the office. Dave Flebotte is behind the half-hour, which comes from ABC Studios and Wass-Stein Productions.
