LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC has saved "your" show.
The Peacock made it official today as word broke the network and studio Warner Bros. Television have reached a deal to give "Chuck" a 13-episode third season.
The series had been the focus of a much-publicized fan campaign, spotlighted on the likes of NPR and "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," which used everything from Twitter to buying sandwiches at featured sponsor Subway in an effort to keep the show alive.
In any case, the 13-episode pickup was made after budget concessions by the studio, a growing trend in the quest for survival by "bubble" shows. Other series set to take a scalpel to their budgets next season: "Dollhouse," "Scrubs" and "Samantha Who?"
NBC unveils its 2009-10 schedule on Tuesday.
