NBC to Re-Broadcast the Special this Friday, June 5, 8-10 PM

NBC Wins the Time Period in Total Viewers and A18-49

New York, N.Y. - June 3, 2009 - More than 9.1 million viewers tuned in to watch Part One of "Inside the Obama White House: Brian Williams Reports" last night from 9-10 p.m. ET on NBC. Part Two of the special airs tonight from 9-10 p.m. ET on NBC. The broadcast will air again this Friday, June 5, 8-10 p.m. ET on NBC. "Inside the Obama White House" is an exclusive, wide-ranging look at what happens throughout the White House and the West Wing during a day in the life of the Obama administration.

"Inside the Obama White House" won the time period in adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 18-34; and men 25-54 (2.6/7 in 18-49, 9.1 million viewers overall) over such competition as Fox's original summer drama "Mental" (1.6/5 in 18-49), the ABC News special "Earth 2100" (1.2/3 in that hour) and CBS's encore "The Mentalist"(2.3/7). "Inside the Obama White House" built on its lead-in by 24% in 18-49 and 66% in total viewers.

From its first half-hour to its second, "Inside the Obama White House" increased its 18-49 rating by 17% (to a 2.8 rating from a 2.4) and its overall viewership by 15% or 1.3 million persons (to 9.8 million from 8.5 million).

Friday's broadcast will air several additional features not included in the Tuesday and Wednesday broadcasts, including a look at White House photographer Pete Souza whose photos have documented the first few months of the Obama administration, and are showcased on the walls throughout the White House; additional footage of the President's burger run with Williams; and by much popular demand -- additional footage of Bo.

For more than forty years, NBC News has made it a tradition to offer viewers a unique vantage point into a new president's White House with a day-in-the-life program. This seventh installment was taped on Friday, May 29. On Tuesday, June 2, the eve of President Obama's trip to the Middle East and Europe, Williams taped a one-on-one interview with the President that aired as part of the broadcast. "Inside the Obama White House" was shot and broadcast in high definition

Viewers can watch web-exclusives and get more behind-the-scenes access to the White House at http://WhiteHouse.msnbc.com. The site features extended interviews, interactive features and in-depth stories that allow users to learn more fascinating facts about America's most famous residence. Consumers can watch full segments that were not included in the broadcast, including Brian Williams' ride in the limousine with President Obama and select interviews. Consumers can take a virtual tour of the White House with an interactive that allows them to take a closer look at the complex and explore some of the historic rooms. Msnbc.com also offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes photo gallery that includes images of the president's "body man" Reggie Love, the official candy of the commander-in-chief, and the preparation that takes place before a visit by the President.
