ELECTRO HIP-HOP DUO LMFAO AND ECCENTRIC MAGICIAN DUO PENN & TELLER PERFORM ON "AMERICA'S GOT TALENT" LIVE RESULTS SHOW WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12 ON NBC
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - August 11, 2009 - On Wednesday, August 12 (9-10 p.m. ET), NBC's hit series "America's Got Talent" will reveal the next five acts moving into the Top 20 and two extraordinary acts will perform -- the chart-topping hip-hop group LMFAO, performing "I'm In LA, Trick," and the ever eccentric magician duo Penn & Teller, performing a new trick that has never been seen before on television.
Los Angeles-based electro hip-hop duo LMFAO have a mission, "to live tonight like there's no tomorrow." Redfoo and Sky Blu call it "Party Rock," and it's the name of their debut album, record label (via the will.i.am Music Group and Interscope Records), clothing line and general outlook on any given day. "I'm In Miami Trick" is already climbing the Top 40 radio charts while "La La La" recently debuted on the Rhythmic radio chart. Foo and Sky (as they refer to each other) are also producers having done remixes for Kanye, Fergie, Katy Perry, Crystal Method, Black Eyed Peas and more. LMFAO are currently performing their party poppin' tunes at clubs across the country and are gearing up for a fall headlining tour that will be announced soon.
Penn & Teller have made a remarkable career, that ranges from stage to television to three best-selling books, look easy. They've done it all on their own as well, in distinctively offbeat terms. They describe themselves as "a couple of eccentric guys who have learned how to do a few cool things." Since first teaming up in 1975, when they combined Teller's silent, occasionally creepy, magic with Penn's clown college education and juggling expertise, the two have created an entertainment success story that went from the streets to small clubs to national theater tours, and now to a current, multi-year engagement at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
"America's Got Talent" is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell's SYCO Television. Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz ("American Idol"), Jason Raff ("Momma's Boys") and Scott St. John ("Deal or No Deal") serve as executive producers.
