Dynamite Rivals Family Dynamic In New TLC Series THE IMPLODERS
- Pilot Episode Premieres December 30 -
SILVER SPRING, Md., Dec. 16 -- TLC introduces THE IMPLODERS, an explosive six-part series following the Idaho-based Kelly family -- the world's greatest demolition experts - as they struggle to manage family life on the road while running a dangerous demolition business. Premiering Wednesday, December 30 at 10 PM (ET/PT), each episode follows Advanced Explosives Demolition (AED) owners Lisa and Eric Kelly as they travel around America risking life and limb, breaking demolition records and bringing down buildings while trying to keep their dynamic family in one piece.
Eric Kelly has been demolishing buildings for over 30 years. He and his wife Lisa have destroyed thousands of buildings and boast a perfect safety record. In the world of explosive demolition where things can go terribly wrong, every job could be their last. With their family in tow, the couple travels over 130,000 miles a year with no home, living hotel to hotel in order to maintain the business and successfully take down a building, bridge or other large structure.
THE IMPLODERS follows a family dynamic that is just as explosive as the business in which they work. Eric and Lisa have a 4-year-old daughter Eliyah, who travels with them wherever they go. Their other six children from previous marriages cycle in and out of the family business and cause more drama than bringing down any building. With this family, there is never a dull moment.
The demolition featured in the pilot episode is the Qwest Building in Phoenix, AR. Other featured cities in the six-part series include: Lawrence, MA; Owensboro, KY; Dallas, TX and Lincoln, NH.
THE IMPLODERS is produced by Reckognition Productions and Discovery Studios. Executive producer for Reckognition Productions is Eric Rechker. The executive producer for Discovery Studios is Al Edgington.
