CHERI OTERI TAKES ON THE ROLE OF "LIFE COACH" IN AMC'S FIRST EVER WEB SERIES

"Life Coach" Web Series Series Features Sessions with Nancy Grace, Kathleen Madigan and Lewis Black

Episodes Begin Monday, February 15th On-Air and Online

New York, NY January 16, 2010 AMC will premiere its first short form web series "Life Coach," featuring actress and comedienne Cheri Oteri, beginning Monday, February 15. The series stars Oteri as "Liza," an unpredictable, hilarious and weirdly insightful therapist, offering advice to an array of clients who live all over the psychological map. "Life Coach" is a comic mini-drama airing in short segments throughout AMC's primetime Monday night movie at 8pm ET/PT and in their entirety online at www.amctv.com or www.lizalifecoach.com.

Kicking off the "Life Coach" season is a special episode where Liza appears as an "expert" on CNN's Nancy Grace, to discuss and defend one of her clients. Grace faces off against Liza via satellite to debate which of the two provides the best client advice. Other new episodes will include sessions with quirky and troubled characters played by a star-studded guest cast, including Lewis Black ("The Aristocrats"), Kathleen Madigan ("Last Comic Standing") and Mark Linn Baker ("Perfect Strangers").

In addition to the full "Life Coach" episodes online, visitors to Liza's official coaching website will be able to submit their own videotaped confessions to Liza in search for answers. Oteri herself underwent an arduous course herself to become a "licensed" coach in reality.

Among the AMC Monday primetime movies during which "Life Coach" will air are Rain Man, The Queen, Stepford Wives and Shallow Hal.

Liza's sessions help clients deal with issues ranging from rocky relationships and dead-end jobs to rampant narcissism and nasty neighbors. She is a fierce advocate when squaring off against a cheating boyfriend, an insensitive boss, or a negligent dry cleaner. While Liza seems to know what every client should do, her own life is a minefield from the chaotic state of her apartment, where she sees clients, to the odd topics that set her off in a session with just as many complications. Liza attempts to solve every problem that walks through the door, thereby solving her own problems as well.

Born in Upper Darby, PA, Oteri moved to Los Angeles at age 25, where she worked at A&M Records and eventually joined the famed comedy troupe The Groundlings. It was there that she was noticed by "Saturday Night Live" and was hired in 1995 as part of a nearly all-new cast. Since Oteri left SNL in 2000, she has appeared in several movies, including Scary Movie, Inspector Gadget, Liar Liar, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, Shrek the Third, Southland Tales, Park, Major Movie Star and Surveillance, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008. Her other television credits include guest spots on "Strangers with Candy," "Just Shoot Me," for which she received an Emmy(R) nomination, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Boston Legal."
