Exclusive: FOX Confirms State of the Union Plans

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has confirmed its plans for Wednesday, January 27, the date of President Obama's first State of the Union address.

"American Idol" will shift to 8:00/7:00c that night, leading into the speech at 9:00/8:00c.

"Human Target," originally slated for 8:00/7:00c on January 27, will instead air a day earlier - Tuesday, January 26 at 9:00/8:00c.

Said installment replaces "Kitchen Nightmares," which was set to get a post-"Idol" boost before assuming its regular Friday, 9:00/8:00c slot on January 29. "Nightmares" however will still follow "Idol" on Tuesday, February 2 as previously reported.

9:00/8:00c - "Kitchen Nightmares"

As for the other broadcast networks, NBC has committed to two hours of news coverage on Wednesday, January 27 starting at 9:00/8:00c while ABC and CBS are expected to announce their plans shortly.
